I could only find one picture that halfway decently showed the wheels, but I think I got them down pretty good...  What do you think?

Oh come one, it's only 7200 per wheel!  This project really falls under the category of practice, rather than a serious project.  Something may come of it later, but right now I'm trying to figure out how to make a panel and want to keep moving on something.

I ported it into FS and had a blast flying it ast night, even if the scale was off by about 6 million.  The plane had a wingspan of about half a mile...  Cheesy

This model is the FS equivelant of a Hardee's hamburger.  Who cares if it's 115 grams of fat so long as it tastes good...

I was about to say the same thing..

Carefull ! with the poly countdown  as Travis saids , he's right ,may parts can be imitate using Bitmaps ,watch the wheels of the default FSX planes the engines ,the fuse the are a little bit square saving polygon and even though the Surface map "Bump" made the B747_400.mdl has 8 mb Shocked

Just a  remark about your tyres, just check the following details to make it a bit more realistic, add the inflat valve,or any significant technical details that could be set by means of  textures.
check if there are some grooves or pads on the rubber, to drawn your own texture with traces of wear.
I' currently use FSDS flight similator design studio to built my own creation. If you want I can try to make such a texture for you.
the low pressure look of such wheels can be figured using a specific shape of tyre as engine and Aircraft has stopped.

Actually, what I usually do is find out what size the images are, make sure they are all relative to each other, the create a plane the same size as the pixels of the image using generic units.

Thanks for the advice, but the exercise was in the rims, not the tires...   Wink

Kevin, set your Preferences to 1 unit = 1 meter. This value is for EXPORT ONLY, and has nothing to do with your modeling.

You can then choose any system of measurement you want to work with IN Max/GMax
