I'm looking to purchase a few planes. I've spent too long in the freeware only world, and now it's time to step up a little bit.

FS9 only please. Smiley

Would like some recomendations for:

1.Bush/prop plane

2.Airliner/cargo

3.Military

4. Any 'Just because I should have it' options. Wink

Any and all help would be appreciated. I've seen many wonderful pics in the Payware section, and I can't make up my mind based on just the visuals.

Thank you much! Smiley

Try Aerosoft's Dornier Do-27. (Don't own it, but this is one of those addons that you can tell is great just from reviews and screenshots)

RealAir's Spitfire (I own it and love it. Highly detailed VC and exterior model, one of the best that I have seen.)

Nemeth Design's Mi-2, or S-76. (I own just the Mi-2, and am thinking about getting the 76. The -2 is excellent, and the -76 looks great. The -2 has a slight learning curve, but is a nice toy to mess around with.)

Carenado's Cessna 182Q, or 182RG. (I own both, prefer the RG)

Aeroworx B200 Super King Air (one of my favorite planes to use in FS2004. A little bit to learn, but it is great and versatile)

Level-D B767 (It's like the PT Tu-154M of the payware world. You'll know what I mean.)

He is right.  And with the TSS 767 pack you will fall out of your seat with the realism! Wink

Not many military jets offered yet; so let me jump in!

The VRS Super-Hornet was recently released. AMAZING bird from what I've seen and heard, and for the moment is an FS9 exclusive!

The Alphasim F-22A Raptor is another amazing bird. Highly maneuverable as far as the sim goes, able to do power loops, high AOA flight, and all the other nifty little tricks that the real bird can do! Excellent VC, looks downright AWESOME, and just fun!

Another bird from Alphasim... The Su-33! The Naval version of the Su-27 and Su-35, the package also comes with Russia's only Aircraft Carrier... the Admiral Kuznetsov. And yes, You can take off from the carrier! And LAND! The bird itself is a bit tricky to handle, but you'll pick it up quickly!

More Alphasim birds...

Their Eurofighter Typhoon is another great one... Fully modeled VC, including the rear cockpit on the two seater models; and excellent flight dynamics. Plus, the entire plane; inside and out; looks real enough to drool on!  Tongue

If you like heavier birds, they also have the C-5A Galaxy and B-1B Lancer. Both have "Simplified" flight dynamics available if you'd like, as they can be quite tricky to land... considering their massive weights! Both are amazingly fun to fly (From tactical landings in a C-5, to high speed, low level "bombing" runs in the B-1B!). Much fun has been had with both birds for me Smiley Wink

If you like the B-1B, you can also try out their Tu-160! Very similar... a little faster, and a lot bigger Wink

I concur on the Flytampa scenery stuff.  And of course Aerosoft AES is an absolute MUST HAVE for fs2004.

Talking about scenery you've got to have if you like bush flying:

(Lago) Georender packages 1 to 6, Lago Emma Field, Orcas (when still available) and Chelan Municipal. Flightzone 2 (Portland) is also highly recommended.

All are small fields scattered around Washington State and Oregon.

One more:

Aerosoft/Digital Aviation Dornier Do-27. Put it in Pro mode and you'll have to fix it everytime you land it. Real start-up sequence, maintainance reports, excellent effects. A must for GA bush flying....

To be honest, the operation of the 767 is very similar to the wilco 120 page manual! Wink

True but i'd rather have the Level-D version since thats the one I own and because im not gunna print up 120 pages and throw away 200 pages.  Grin Cool

For low and slow, you can't beat Aerosoft's fleet of Super Cubs and their Beaver's all right too.  Another I really like is the Lionheart Bellanca Viking.

Just check AlphaSim before you buy anything. They're giving all of their FS2004 addons away for free. A year ago some of that stuff would have sold for $25.00

For an awesome twin turbo prop, get the piper cheyenne from aerosoft/digital aviation.  Beautiful sounds, terrific 3D cockpit/cabin, excellent lighting on the panel, weather radar, comes with three models and three textures for each model.

Of all the payware I own this one is my favorite, and it comes with a free upgrade to the FSX version should you ever cave in   Wink
