I'm not saying who's winning, and we were 1 judge short that last round, but here is where the score stands right now, still VERY close, and as we saw in the first half, this can turn around with a single round! Cool

TEASER SCORES:   2039.5    /   2008.25

...

Thanks to Aussiewannabe for the theme idea & pic! Smiley

Thunder crashes and lightning flashes as the shooters take up another round!

This week we are after the most realistic, nastiest looking thunderstorm you can produce!

The worse the weather, the better. Wink

Two themes to go, and the score is close! Now is the time to really make these shots count. Wink

I will accept last rounds scores from B-Valvs till the end of today, at that time, the scores from last week will be locked in. Cool

Good luck and have fun everyone! Smiley

Good luck to all! Cool

Wonderful shot! The scenery even still looks great through that thick fog and you got a great clear thunderstrike. Its almost like that doesent even look like the default thunder. Shocked Shocked Shocked

Am I missing something here but how do you catch the lightning....? I spent 2 hours yesterday flying a tonka around wales in a storm trying desperately to catch it (tried slowing time down etc but it didn't help....)....It was good fun hitting the loop but was a little tiresome having come away without a shot to use Sad

I use BAW's technique.

I get my plane into position with the slew, and then speed up time to 16x, and just keep hitting the pause key until I have a decent strike.

Then with the game in pause, you can mess with the weather, time of day, camera angle and plane type, and the lightning will still be there. Wink

Just don't un-pause the game until you're done. Cheesy Wink

My method is a bit different:
Slew the plane into position.
No speed up time whatsoever. Regular speed.
Keep the plane in slew. Putting it in pause will stop the navigation lights from flashing as well as the lightning strikes. You can still mess with the weather, time, camera angle and plane type while in slew mode.

If you use F1View, it can store up to 1000 shots (000 to 999). After I do what seems like a lot of pressing print scr, I'll minimize FS and take a look at what I have. I don't always catch that great lightning shot the first time around. I'll save some of them in a temp file, delete the rest, making sure I put the FSScreen shortcut button in another temp directory before deleting them and start over. If it's a morning or dusk shot, I'll back up the clock several minutes and go at it again.

Hope this helps.

One other thing: when in slew, you can watch the clouds move.
