One thing I would say is, the british media will now start riding Buttons jockstrap for all its worth again, Personally if I was Jeson I would tell them to go walk off a cliff after the way they have ignored him for the last 3 seasons.

Er, if you are in one of the slowest cars in the field during a nail biting championship battle, that is to be expected.  Get over it

You didn't experience the Lewis Hamilton centric coverage over here in the UK I take it? Wink Smiley ITV's coverage could easily have been the Lewis Hamilton/McLaren show, with a GP in between. No one seemed to tell them about the 6 (7 with Super Aguri) British based teams! Grin

Get over what?
Its a simple point. From 2004 to 2006 every race weekend we were constantly subjected to James allens love for Button, he almost exploded hungary 2006, and every race we were given the wonderful insight of John Button (jensons dad). Then halfway through 2006 suddenly lewis hamilton starts to appear on the radar, and James Allen and co rather unceremoniously dump Jenson and daddy, and start cuddling up to Lewis and daddy, we barely heard from Jenson at that point and not once from his dad.
Now I personally couldn't care we all know my dislike of hamilton thanks to the way he was forced down our throats, and Jenson I've never really had an opinion about quite honestly. I prefer Jensons honest approach though, he is more up for a laugh with interviews.  I'm simply saying Jenson would be best not to let the media back in bed with him simply because through said tough patch they wanted nothing at all to do with him.

It's always been that way.. for as long as I can remember. James Hunt in the 70s, Mansell in the 80s and early 90s, Hill in the mid 90s.

I noticed it watching the BBC's online highlights of the Oz GPs from 1986 and 1994. The 94 was the most biased, the whole intro centred around the Rothmans Williams and Damon's "Rowing Club" helmet. Interspersed with footage of Hill Sr. wearing the very same colours.

The home media will always get behind the best hope of glory (and publicity) that they can cover.. viewing figures are the king and nobody tunes in to see back markers.

I guess you're right, the US has nothing to do with F-1 anymore, so its not like Hobbs, Matchett, or Varsha are really rooting for anyone.  I'm even not sure I see Craigs point about Button being more honest than Hamilton in interviews (maybe more P.C. for the sake of the team, but certainly not dishonest).  Could it be the scandal rags over there are more concerned with him?  I know here all they care about is Oprah getting fat, and what farm animal the former pres. was having an affair with Grin

Until next year, we hope. Good people behind the proposal, and hopefully they'll be allowed to choose suitable drivers, unlike the previous foray of a US driver into F1, which was entirely based on his sponsor wanting to put a US driver on the grid, as opposed to the other talent available. It is no different in other countries. Here in Germany, once Schumacher had made his mark as the world champion until he retired.......Heinz Harald Who?? Nick Heid...something or another and the brother, though he got more than the other two for obvious reasons.

Did Schmacher have a brother who was a racing driver? News to me. I know there was Ralf, but...
