The video on the Fed-ex japan crash is really bad. Hopefully the crew were able to get out.

Hopefully not in an (allegedly) overloaded PC-12 or a Fedex MD-11 freighter. Either way, at least one of these accidents appears to have been a freak.
With the MD-11, it bears a striking resemblance to an accident so often seen on light aircraft - PIO (pilot induced oscillation). I can imagine the consequences of a PIO during the landing of a 150ton aeroplane being quite nasty on the wrong day with a nasty x-wind.

The local news is saying that 14 people were killed in the Pilatus PC-12, and preliminary reports say that it may have been overloaded.
Three families, including seven adults, and seven childred died while going on vacation. Such a tragedy...

9 passenger seats, plus copilot seat suitable for a passenger. One out of the 14 was 1 year old, so you are left with 13 adults and big children for a plane equipped for 11 of those. 2 of those big children were 3, and the other 4 children were 4, 5, 7 and 9.

I don't think overall weight was an issue. Most of the passengers were "small".
However.. considering that there were 14 people on board, and that they probably had substantial cargo (ski trip)... this has CoG written all over it.

its very sad,, maybe the gravity of centre was off.. now the average weight of how the calculate it is 205 pounds per person. and 95 pounds per laugage, I just hope they find out what happened, so it never happens again
