This is a composite of musicians around the world singing one of my old favorites, "Stand by me". First released in 1955 by the Staple Singers and again in 1961 by the Drifters. This is a different take on it and a toe tapper for sure!
PS I wasn't sure if this should be in video forum.

'Stand By Me' is truly one of the great soul tunes from long ago, and that video is just really far out! Enjoyed it lots, thanks for that. Had forgotten it, but now again I can actually hear its very distinctive bass line, bom bom, bom bom bom, bom, etc., soooo coool!

Excellent video! Thanks for posting.
It really drives home the point that music belongs to the people and not the big corporations who market a lot of no talent people.
One correction....... The Drifters never recorded it. Ben E. King who was a Drifters member at the time, recorded it solo. There are a couple storys about why this actually occured but there were no other Drifters members on the recording.
The Drifters did perfom it on stage however.

My girlfriend says you are correct, The Drifters as a group did not record that. She is somewhat of an afficianado in this field. I liked this version on the vid as well as the others.

Great video. Got me smilin' and toe tappin', not to mention thinking about putting flying on hold and getting out my guitar. I especially liked Grandpa Elliott. If I let my beard grow and got me a hat like that, I'd look like a white version of him. Thanks for posting it.
If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.
