I have Rail Simulator, and it has always worked fine, until now. Everytime I try to run the sim, I get this message after about a minute of the computer trying to read the disk:

...

Does anyone know how I might be able to fix this, or why this message comes up in the first place?

Thanks.

Cool

Do you mean Train Simulator? They're different.

Yes Train simulator, played that since it came out then I have not touched since my updated system can run fs9 with great frame rate. Rail simulator I would have to check that out. but im at work and any web site with "game or Games" is blocked. lucky i can get this site from work.

It was developed by ACES, so who knows.

Try emptying your temp file before playing ....... i seem to remember a similar type of error when first playing rail simulator.

As for Train simulator 2 ..... Scrapped along with the ACES team.

In XP it's C/documents and settings/your comp name/local settings/temp.

It will be something similar in Vista.

Just clear out the contents of the temp file, anything that wont clear just leave as it is usually associated with something that is already running.

Skip all that and go for the saga of 'Trainz'. i got the combo pack (trainz utc, Trainz 04, Trainz 06, and the expansion pack) for six bucks at big lots. Its so easy to operate.
