Los Angeles International Airport
TO
San Fransisco International Airport
293NM over sunny and smoggy California!
Approx departure time: 7:30pm.
I'm assuming John will be using the 146 and Shane the free 737.
If you are using something different, or if your name is not listed above and you will participate, post the details of what aircraft you will be using.
My aircraft: To be decided...

I'm planning to be there again. I'll be in the Jon Murchison BAe 146-200 in the United Express / Air Wisconsin paint.
best,
...................john
PS: Hey... we're in
California
on this one....... maybe we can get Fozzer to lose some sleep for one occasion and join us. He can start the route WAY earlier than we do and meet us there in his trusty Baron. Or follow us in and watch for severe wake turbulence.

LA to 'Frisco...
...!
Highways... 1 (Coast)...101 (Silicon Valley) ...5 (Central Valley)...
...!
...My favourite route which I travel most days...in both directions...
...!
Your 7:30 PM (U.S. Time) flights means I have to keep awake until 1:30/2:30 AM (the next morning)....(I get tired very quickly after Midnight...my Teddy Bear needs me)...
...
...!
Our 7:30/8:00 PM European Flights work out well for our U.S. Flyers; around 1:30 PM in their afternoon...
...!
...but not the other way round...
...!
...other wise I would have used my Default, turbo-charged, Trusty Beech Baron 58 (its the fastest G.A. Prop Plane I have in my Hangar), and a spare Chat Window...
...!
(I've got the Dreamwings Bombardier Dash 8-Q400 Turbo-prop, but its a bit of af a handful...and its not Default!)...!
Paul...G-BPLF...FS 2004...FS Nav...and a bottle of "Stay Awake" tablets..
...!
....
....!
P.S. I may accompany you...if I can stay awake long enough...VOR to VOR, NDB to NDB...
...
...no problems with my trusty, stable (NO Router!), Multiplayer, FS 2004 system!...
...!

Guess what......I have to work an extra day on Saturday, so the flight will have to be rescheduled. I'll have to figure out when a good day would be.

Never mind, Sean...
If there's nothing worth watching on the Tele, (there rarely is!), I might take one of my favourite flights from LA to 'Frisco, hugging the Pacific Coast, with the amazing Highway 1 always down below me for the whole journey!
What a FANTASTIC scenic route that must be to drive along in real life, with the ocean always visible off your left shoulder, and the mountains to your right, (when travelling
upwards!
Its reversed when traversing the route in the other direction...trust me!)...
...!
(The road can be followed through Oregon and Washington, right up to Seattle!)
Highway 101 runs parallel to it, just a short way inland all the time.

Friday probably is not possible for me. Will be "on the road" that day and may not get back in time. Ditto on Thursday. Sunday evening at 7:30 is great though. Also could do Wed. evening at 7:30.

Fozzer,
You could try taking the default Lear 45 for a spin or two. It is sorta' CLOSE to GA. It COULD be a GA aircraft for a really rich person.
That plane would easily keep up with the rest of the "metal cigars".

Default scenery. I'll personally be using VOZ North textures as well, but nothing special for the airports.
So far so good for the departure time. I end work at 6pm so 7:30 should work out.

I have the default LAX enhancement that is located in the SimV libary (if I remember correctly) and the payware FlyTampa KSFO installed.
Will be flying the same Jon Murchison BAe 146-200 in the United Express / Air Wisconsin paint as the last time.
Are we going "direct", or should we plan a VOR / airway type route?

No, we're doing it tonight.
So take your nap early Fozz.
You need to be bright eyed and bushy tailed for the trip. We can't have sleepy pilots in the air.
Don't know it this was common knowledge or not, but last night Lunitic and Skoker discovered that FS9 & FSX work together for online flying, with no apparent problems seeing each other.
You FSX'ers now have no excuse not to join us.

...the only thing I have found in the past, during our mixed FS9/FSX Multiplayer flights, is that for some reason, the Airport/Airfield ground elevations seem to be either above, or below the ground, and the exact runway positions differ slightly, even with the default scenery!
..all O.K. in the air...some confusion on the ground...

The one thing I noticed yesterday is that the default FSX scenery is better matched to addon scenery in FS9 Also if FSX'ers want to do multiplayer with 9'ers I think lunitic was running in 32bit in MP instead of the 64bit he normally runs. We should note that in the sticky.

OK guys
All in all, an INTERESTING flight....
A few server hiccups and issues with rejoining, but at least it was a scenic route.
Keep your eyes open for a route suggestion thread in the next few minutes.

Fozzer,
THANKS for making the effort to join us. We all realize that it is difficult for you due to the timeframe and we really appreciate that you went WAY out of your way to join this flight.
Too bad the "port issue" with someone else on the server cropped up and causes such havoc.
best,
