Welcome to the monthly contest admissions thread for Best Screenshots of March 2009!!

The aim is to choose the very best screenshots/screenart from each FS forum in the last month and display them in our permanent gallery.

Here:GALLERY

Rules:

1.
You can submit 3 shots of your own, and an UNLIMITED* NUMBER OF PICS BY OTHER PEOPLE.

*
Unlimited = 'within reason' i.e. 10 or so is okay...not 5, 372... Wink  Cheesy

That way, people who are really keen to participate and contribute are free to do so and can 'cover for' those who for whatever reason don't get round to it.... Smiley

2. You don't have to nominate all pictures at once,
just keep adding them TO YOUR ORIGINAL POST
using the edit button.

3. Submit the pictures as links without image tags, or if you feel like it, thumbnails. Do not submit full images! New image size guidelines apply.

4.
Write next to the image who made it, and if it is F, P or E (Freeware, Payware or Edited).

eg               IMAGE by Su27pwnsF15aniday   F
       IMAGE by me      P
       IMAGE by krigl   E
       etc.... Smiley

5.The admissions thread will close officially at midnight on the last day of the month and the gallery team will knock up three polls, one for each of the screenshot forums.

6. This competition is for members, and if no one nominates anything the contest will disappear. Not everyone likes contests...but those of you who do need to get involved.
 Smiley

We're aiming for around 80 nominations - i.e. 16 people nominate five shots each... so don't hold back and NOM-IN-ATE!!

That’s it. Let’s hope we get to see the best of the best from all three FS screenshot forums!

Happy nominating!!

The Gallery Team

I wanted to bring something up to the members who nominate shots in here, as I have received quite a few PM's from a lot of you, all concerning the same issue here.

 It seems that some feel that people who only nominate three of their own shots, without nominating anyone else's shots kind of negates the entire purpose of this thread.

I've watched the noming threads for the past couple of months now, and there is a bit of it. Nothing I would consider extreme, but it is still there.

In my opinion, if your shot is really good, someone is going to nominate it. So if you feel you must nominate three of your own, give a couple of others some recognition for their efforts too, and give them a nom also. Wink

The whole purpose of this thread and the monthly best of's is to find and recognize the best of the best, not necessarily the best of your best.

I hope you all understand where I'm coming from here. Some have asked that the rules be changed to only allow 1 self nomination, but I think that's a little extreme at this point.
Although I'm not entirely against making it one self nomination per category.

This is for fun, and for highlighting the talented screen-artists amongst us. If your shot didn't get nominated, or didn't make the judges pick, use that as motivation to figure out how to improve.
  We do have a studioV for that kind of thing. Cheesy Wink

I haven't nominated one of my own shots in quite a while, but I've still been nominated, and even made the judges picks a few times. So it can and will happen. Have faith. Smiley

I appreciate others views and opinions on this, but please keep it civil. Smiley

Cheers,

Shane

Well Shane I pretty much agree with everything that you said. I'm all for limiting your own pics to just one per category. Also maybe making a rule that you can't do this until maybe the last three days of the month before the ending date. If some other member hasn't nominated a shot of yours that you think deserved to be nominated that would be the time to do it yourself. I really hate nominating my own, but I will if nobody else does it.
