I wanted to bring something up to the members who nominate shots in here, as I have received quite a few PM's from a lot of you, all concerning the same issue here.
It seems that some feel that people who
only nominate three of their own shots, without nominating anyone else's shots kind of negates the entire purpose of this thread.
I've watched the noming threads for the past couple of months now, and there is a bit of it. Nothing I would consider extreme, but it is still there.
In my opinion, if your shot is really good, someone is going to nominate it. So if you feel you must nominate three of your own, give a couple of others some recognition for their efforts too, and give them a nom also.
The whole purpose of this thread and the monthly best of's is to find and recognize the
best of the best, not necessarily the best of your best.
I hope you all understand where I'm coming from here. Some have asked that the rules be changed to only allow 1 self nomination, but I think that's a little extreme at this point.
Although I'm not entirely against making it one self nomination per category.
This is for fun, and for highlighting the talented screen-artists amongst us. If your shot didn't get nominated, or didn't make the judges pick, use that as motivation to figure out how to improve.
We do have a studioV for that kind of thing.
I haven't nominated one of my own shots in quite a while, but I've still been nominated, and even made the judges picks a few times. So it can and will happen. Have faith.
I appreciate others views and opinions on this, but please keep it civil.
Cheers,
Shane
