Hello Multiplayer Chums!... Smiley...!

I love being able to publish, on-line, my FS Navigator Flight Plans in my Multiplayer sessions for anyone to peruse, (and maybe join?)...

...but...how I miss the interactive radio communication between me and Air Traffic Control, which we enjoy during our "off-line", Solo flights!... Cry...!

I know for technical reasons, mixing the two is not possible, but I really do miss the company of the Default ATC during my Multiplayer flights...Wink...!

..it can get quite lonely...up here... Roll Eyes....it really can!... Cry....!

Paul...G-BPLF...FS 2004...FS Navigator...and a blown fuse in my Radio Stack!... Grin...!

Paul,

There are the payware addon ATC programs Radar Contact and Profilght Emulator.  They are stand alone ATC programs that run "outside" the sim itself.

I am not SURE ....but it might be possible to have them running when you are in online mode.  Those two programs are said to be VERY much more realistic.  Proflight Emulator has regional voices that match the location with the English accents used (asia, europe, america, south america, etc.).

You ought to research it.  It would be slick as heck if that was the case.

best,

...don't know, John...

The Default ATC runs "inside" the Sim, and constantly tracks our locations very accurately, and communicates with us as we Taxi, Fly, etc, during our individual "Solo" flights.

It is purposely disabled during Multiplayer flights, probably to prevent it, (message, etc), from appearing on other Pilots screens when it is of no interest to them.

Its difficult to see how an ATC program running independent of the Sim would work, tracking us, either solo, or especially, Multiplayer.

Never mind... Smiley...!

I just have to decide each time I load the Sim...do I want to connect in Multiplayer and fly silently.... Cry...., or fly Solo and communicate with the lovely Folks at Air Traffic Control.. Kiss...!

I must admit that I have always enjoyed the ATC Radio Communications in all my MS Flight Sims...and learnt a lot!.... (and Pro Pilot 2 ATC was exceptionally good).

Paul...Over and Out... Cool...!

If one joins a multiplayer with an ATC player, do you not get the experience?

Not too many casual flight sim servers have ATC operating.  For that you need to hang out on VATSIM or IVAO.  And those sites utilize separate proprietary software and are very complex..... literally like the real world.  If you aren't a "type rated" level pilot in an aircraft there .... you'd better not show up online in one.

What about SimV's server?  If I wanted to start working as an ATC here, how would I go about it?

I'm currently running FSX Deluxe, btw, but nothing "extra" in terms of plugins or add-on software.  What would be your reccomendations?

As far as I know the first thng you'd need is a controller's software package.  I think the only one for FSHost is payware.  CAn't remembe the name right now.

And of course you'd need to know HOW to control.  PLaces like VATSIM run full blown courses for ATCs with understudy type situation once the course work is completed.  There is a lot to it to do it right.

...sometimes, during my Solo, Multiplayer Flights, one of these anonymous, over enthusiastic, amateur ATC Chappies will pop up in my Chat Window giving me vague instructions, and telling me where to go, and what to do, with obviously no knowledge of my intentions in my pre-filed Flight Plan... Roll Eyes...!

...my usual reply is the tell them where to go...and what to do...
...in the nicest possible way...with a big smile....of course!.... Grin...!

I would much rather listen to the Default FS9 ATC instructions in my Solo Multiplayer...but that's not possible, as we know!... Wink...!

I really do enjoy my in-flight communications with ATC During my Solo, off-line flights*.

Paul...G-BPLF....FS 2004...FS Navigator... and my own registration call-sign... Kiss...!

*.....My main reasons for logging into "Multiplayer" during my "Solo" Multiplayer Flights is to publish my Flight Plan (in  http://cockpit.netfrag.org:8090/ ), if anyone cares to try the same route, either with me, or at another time!

A "Fozzers Flight Plan" always guarantees an "educational" trip...if nothing else!...Wink... Grin..!

...LOL... Grin...!

..'trubble is, Sam...

The Multiplayer Teamspeak program isn't designed to allow me to communicate with ATC, using default FS 2004 ATC, in "on-line", Solo flights.

It gets awfully quiet during my Solo on-line Flights, after I have published my Flight Plan...Wink...!

Default, "off-line", ATC constantly track my taxi/flight movements which I don't think Teamspeak can do?

Paul...G-BPLF...FS 2004...and a duff Radio... Grin...!

Teamspeak Headphones make my ears too hot...and I dribble in the Mike...!... Embarrassed.... Grin...!
