I'm pretty sure that GEX will run with both of them, but will UTX and SceneryTech run together w/o problems.

Thanx

EDIT: I found the answer. But I read that it needs some extra setting up. Could anyone explain?

I'll try to help,

Make sure to install UTX first and then all the updates.  The update procedure is explained on Flight1's website.  After UTX is installed, THEN install GEX nhanced.  Update GEX if needed before copying the textures into FSX.

Ultimate Terrain installs scenery (landclass) entries into the Scenery Library.  When you install SceneryTech you MUST MUST MUST layer the scenerytech landclass between the "UT urban" and "UT vegetation"  landclass entries in the SCENERY LIBRARY.  To do that go into the scenery library, add ST area...browse to the ST folder and select.  Then move that area down the priority list.

There is a thread all about setting things up like you're asking, I just can't find it right now.  What's important is WHERE that SceneryTech landclass entry goes in the Scenery Library.  That will ensure the landclass works properly.  If I can find that thread I'll post it.

Cheers,
-Jim

Here you go, I think this is it.

http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=24965

This talks about a lot more but it shows how to layer the landclass correctly with UTX.

I run all three together along with FSG, FEX and FSWC.  The land and water look fantastic.

What about using these with the "Mega Airports" and scenery such as the 4 FranceVFR products? I cannot get my CDG to look right anymore with the France VFR stuff. I've tried every combination of priorities and it doesn't help.

Thoughts?

The airports have to be higher priority then everything else.  Also, there are these airport files called "AFCADS" that tend to mess things up when piled on top of one another.  Below are posts about FS Dreamteam JFK mega-airport.  They describe how to deal with these files to make sure the airports are displayed correctly.

In fact, there are several posts about AFCADS here:

http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=c5fpnnpeq1vblnrupusmkut4l4&...

Read through and see if you find a solution, it's JFK but the reason you're having issues should relate.  Good Luck!

I also use MegaSceneryX products along with freeware scenery and freeware airports downloaded from this site and others.  The key to making everything work is how you layer it.  Just follow the directions in the link that someone posted above regarding Nick's directions.  As far as add on scenery and airports, airports and small scenery areas (like a marina) are above everthing else, below that you have stuff like MegaSceneryX and below that you have UTX, SceneryTech, FSG, etc. (order UTX, SceneryTech, FSG, etc. as suggested by Nick in the above mentioned link).

The one thing that you want to make sure and not do is have two or more files for the same airport installed.  This will cause problems and it can take a long time to figure out what happened.  I had two blg files for JFK installed once and it took me a week of testing to figure out what I had done.

I am certain that the France VFR package (base, autogen, ParisCity and PArisVFR) must add some CDG files. I have placed the MegaAirport CDG on top of everything else. My planes float above the tarmac and can run off the edges. The terminal is sunken into the ground.

When I uncheck the France VFR items, it looks fine. Thoughts?

Another question: I have layered SceneryTech into UTX as shown in the Nick post. However, look at my image attached. This is at KIAH (George Bush in Houston). I would think that the two add-ons would fix something that looks like this.

If you are referring to the brown airport, what season of the year are you set at.  The airport sits on top of all other scenery so the airport will not blend with the surronding scenery there will be a visible line between the airport and the surronding scenery.  If you do not like the KIAH that you have try downloading a freeware KIAH.  I got one from this site or over at avsim.net

For FSX? I haven't found an IAH for FSX and I've been looking!

Can you point me to a link?

Go over to www.avsim.net in the library section, look in the fsx afcad section, there are three there to choose from and there maybe others in the fsx scenery section.

OK, I've seen the AFCAD files. They don't do anything for the terminals, scenery, etc. They only change the gates, parking, roads, etc. I want an airport that is more photo realistic.

Thanks though....
