Hi

I´m new in FSX editing (but not in the 3D). I´ve rencently bought the FSX Gold Edition (FSX Deluxe + Acceleration) and I´ve installed the proper SDK for it (the acceleration one).

I´m using Vista 32bit & 3ds Max 2008 which uses the same plugins for the 3ds Max 9 version. I´ve configured the plugins.ini path correctly so I can see both "Aces Tools" and "Aces Documentation" menus within 3ds Max.

Then I replace the XtoMdl.exe of the MAX9 folder with the one from the MAX7 folder (due to that file is not windows certificated so it doesn´t work)

Then I open the example file for the DC3 (or any other file) to export it and see how it works, but when I go to:

"Aces Tools" --> "Export LOD" --> "Export" and check the "Build only MDL file" option, to convert the .x file to .mdl, this is what the executable says:

...

What am I doing wrong? I´ve tried a lot of things:

* Install the latest Framework version
* Install Directx 9.0c
* Changing regional configuration to english (United States). That´s because my windows is the spanish version.

Nothing works.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, Alrot, I´ve dowloaded the runtimes from the link you posted above but sadly is not working. I´ve tried creating a single box and then exporting it with the "Build only MDL file" option enabled just to see what happen. The result is the same error.

...

I have spent a few hours searching in the Internet and it seems a lot of people are having problems with XtoMDL.This is very very frustrating  Sad

Is there any particular way or setting to have this working?

That's doesn't work like that Abrams, you need to export this files in here 3dmax I mean,.. Files/Export/ Flightsim DirectX File (*.X) there should be two files exported

Example: Avion.X and Avion.XANIM files and you have to save these files here /C:\Archivos de programa\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Modeling SDK\3DSM7\Plugins

or 3d max9\plugins

You need to create a shortcut of the XtoMdl to the "send to" folder

To save my bad English speeching here is a tutorial from Bill Leaming who tough me this, follow exactly what he says

Thanks for your help Alrot but at the end, all was the fault of the .dll of the max9 plugins folder. I replaced it with the ones from max7 folder and everything works like charm.  Grin
