Yes you can, and so can lunitic_8. I'll obviously make it so it fits in the space. There are some hills on each side of the lake a little but away from the lake, so it will not be as large as the one I've shown. 1 or 2 runways, and a water runway. Then, all the parking spots. If you want to check out the location, start at Grand Canyon National Park airport it think it is, take off and turn to about 230-240 I think. Fly straight till you hit a lake.

It's a pretty small lake, so at that speed you'd need ot be fairly precise, and I wasn't.
You would've needed to go at heading 242. That is the exact number, if you took off from runway 21 and used the exact turn as me.

This sounds great to me. Location seems perfect, almost like your own Area-51. You can put me down for a parking spot also,if that's alright.
The more I think about it, the more I really like your idea.
Just wish I was more knowledgable and could contribute towards making this work.
PS: I'm still laughing my azz off from your "no more lips"reply.

Hm, I'm not all to fond of the area, for several reasons:
1: Altitude. The place is located at around 6000 feet. Most props will be more or less struggling at that altitude, and planes like the Cub, are probably kept better at low altitude.
2: Surroundings. The area is very flat. It's pretty much in the middle of the desert, and there's nothing to look at. And I think, that glider pilots would like some mountains as well.
I think there was another one... but I forgot, so it can't have been important
I got some doubts about the size of the airports as well...
First, a 20,000 feet runway? Even the Shuttle Landing Facility 'only' has a runway of 15,000 feet, and I doubt we'll be seeing any shuttles
And about all the parking spaces... It'd probably be suicide for most system to cram a number of planes into a place like that, think about what a few hundred will do?
I don't mean to stomp on all your work, I really don't
BTW, I've flown around Minden, Nevada. IMO, this serves the purpose of putting an airport better. It's located at a lower altitude (around 4000 feet, which is still a lot, but can make quite a difference). It's surrounded by beautiful mountains, and there's a huge lake nearby. It's also a famous area for gliding.
IMO, this just seems like a better place, rather than an empty desert

I'll look into that location. You bring up a lot of good points. As for the 20,000 foot runways and the hundreds of parking spaces: I don't plan to do that for this project (that base was just kinda' a project for me to practice creating an airport form scratch). There will be only a few parking spaces for "visitors." Each member that signs up will have their own hangar (big enough to fit small to medium size planes). There will probably only be one to two paved surfaces (2 to 4 runways) and one water runway.

The specific area I'm talking about, is a few miles South of Minden-Tahoe (airport). There's also a lake, which is by far big enough for a water runway. However, to preserve the hills around that place, an artificial lake would be easy to place
And I've jusr fallen in love with the huge lake, and small airport just North-East of there

The problem I see there is that everywhere there is a flat surface for an airport, there is already an airfield. Could you show me exactly where you propose it should go? I do like this type of area better than the desert so far. I thought I had the final location, I don't think so anymore. I'm glad I didn't start making it yet.

Ok how big do you mean by meduim sized planes...
(Then again, it's not like I'm going to try to put an An 225 in a hanger)
One other thing... I would like a hanger too...
