I would like to upgrade my system to an i7.  However, after pricing it out the spousal unit said, and I quote, "Not until we get new carpet for the living and dining room and replace the bathroom cabinets." 

So I thought that maybe I could do a mini-upgrade that would increase FSX performance enough until such time as I could do a real upgrade.  My current specs are:

Nvidia 680i MB
Core 2 duo 6600
2 gigs DDR2 800 RAM
8800GTS GPU

Would upgrading to the following have a wothwhile benefit:

Quad core Q9550
4 gigs ddr2 Crucial Ballistix PC2-6400
