Hey have you read the entire thread and article?
Didn't say a thing about MSFS production stopping.
It is simply, delayed.
But if FS shuts down we have a nice alternative!

I have been busy messing with the paint job on this AC...Notice the slight weathering on the wings and the windows....also the clouds don't look that bad once you set them up correctly also notice how the clouds cast shadows

I always under the impression that FSX would support cloud shadows. Guess it's just one more thing to hope for in FSXI.
Beautiful screens mate.

Yes, I've never seen an aircraft will all windows tinted to such an extent that you couldn't see inside...
Nice shots JSpahn, but I still think you sold yourself short by switching to becoming an X-plane screenshot artist, due to the way the aircraft models look. (Ground textures look nice though)

Honestly Sean I love fs9 and Im gonna miss many aspects...but Im hopeful those features are gonna make its way into XP....Im done with Windows, long story, and Im not looking back...
As far as flying is concerned Im very impressed with XP, and I have been enjoying flight much more...of course its a case of apples and oranges...and I understand that....
I dont think I'm selling myself short in the screen shot area, the sim is new to me and I have much to learn...you will see
well if you want to look....
Yeah the Evenblade is an older AC before windows could be made transparent...so the designer had to be more creative and I think it came out great..You posted a shot with pixelated trees in the JC contest(Im gonna look for a pixelated tree today when I take a walk around the neighborhood.....
) FSX doesn't support cloud shadows or bird strikes...you might say I dont care about that...well, I do
...
XP doesn't have as much support in the 3rd party AC/scenery development as MSFS, but there are a few payware and freeware AC out there that are quite impressive....Im hopeful more designers come aboard...
My cons with the sim are lack of AI, a Flight planner, improved GUI and weather engine....
Just my 2 cents
P.S. Not trying to antagonize at....

Point taken.
I suppose I'm just not used to seeing the vast modeling differences present in this program, but I know your work, and I'm sure that as you compensate for the changes, we'll again see top shots from you.
I guess my initial statement made me sound like an a##, but that was not my intention.
Cloud shadows and bird strikes would certainly be nice in the MSFS world....
And as for the trees....I still don't care for the FS trees with foliage on them, but the winter ones don't look
too
bad.....IMO.

I guess I did kinda take it that way...my bad...problem with the written word is sometimes things are lost in translation...not your bad mine
I think the challenge of making screenies started dying with fs9 for me I need something completely different...
Without as much support for X-Plane I got a hell of a challenge

Hi John
These are nice looking shots. I think X-Plane looks pretty good overall. I just don't care for the clouds. I've got the demo installed but I haven't got around to learning how to use it yet. I've found you just can't fire it up and fly like you can with FSX. Keep posting your screen-shots in the Cage. I enjoy looking at them. I'm still wondering what caused you to make the switch. It's none of my business I know but I still wonder.

I kinda have a short fuse, and loosing hundreds in payware due to a virus got my blood a boiling
So I decided to give up on windows forever...Im fortunate that X-Plane is a good alternative. Yeah I know kinda childish
Once you get your joystick setup and adjust to the UI, its a blast to fly

Thanks for your reply John. I feel for you. I lost everything with a hard drive crash on my old computer. I dread to have anything happen now as I also have a big investment in FS payware at this time. I have it pretty much backed up this time , but what a time consuming job it would be re-installing it.
