The 757 is a bit more advanced then MS default....I haven't explored the FMC yet but it seems to work...The overhead has limited functionality...

X-Plane doesn't come packaged with a flight planner...but Goodway is a payware alternative, Im having problems getting it to work in Linux( unbuntu 8.10)...... its just a dependency issue with a program called python-opengl...ill figure it out Grin

I think a freeware FMC is available also.....

Its a lonely solar system in X-Plane...no AI.. Cry , that really stinks!

Python-OpenGL? Is it missing some sort of module? I dont have a lot of python experiences, but its quite versatile from what i have seen from it so far.

I have the module and python installed, I think Goodway was written to work with an older version of the module or Ubuntu...Im still a Linux newbie so Im really not sure  EmbarrassedGrin

I used to have XPlane 6 (I might still) and that had AI. The only thing I don't like about Xplane is how expensive it is, the UI and the aircraft models.

I ran FS9 with tons of add-ons and I was lucky to get 20-25 fps, around 9 to 19 in populated areas...I didnt test the FPS out yet in XP  but flying so far has been very smooth I haven't felt the need...

XP will automatically reduce the visibility if FPS drop below a set point to keep frames up...I was running into this, but I reduced the AA to 2 and turned off the autogen trees(which are nice but not missed with the high res scenery), so far so good...

Although the XP interface could use an overhaul, they give you a good set of rendering options to maximize  performance....(ok now I sound like a salesperson) Grin Grin I tell you what if you walk away with XP ill throw in a cup holder and a set of fuzzy dice... Grin

Its nice not having a slowdown while on a final.... Wink
