Nick,

Is it possible to take my current system (780i, Q6600 at 3.6, 4gb Dominator 8500 RAM) and mate it to another computer to use two processors?

I don't know if FSX would even benefit from something like this.

Basically I'm trying to find a way to get the most powerful machine possible without having to dump everything I already have.

What computer would MS run FSX on to get everything maxed out with no stutters and the best possible visuals and fastest FPS?

If you wait till the end of this year or perhaps next year. I will let you know

No, mating will accomplish nothing

Clocked i7 940 to 4GHz and 1600 memory on a 64bit OS + a 280 series card is the best you will do

Unfortunately FSX is a year 2004 rendering engine that does not take advantage of newer shader engine game tech and therefore FSX will never catch up to the video hardware which is being designed for games like Crysis.. all shader engine perf

Perhaps Sandybridge, the next incarnation of Intel will bring that into its time. With FSX its all about the processor and memory speed with the highest GPU core. TMU amount and memory buss speed video card you can get

I have the 280GTX, 64 bit OS.

I would need to get a new MB, Processor and RAM to do what you say, right? The 1600 RAM is DDR3 isn't it? I have Dominator which is 1066 DDR2.

Can you point me to the items I would need? Can I use my same cooler (vendetta 2) and PS (Corsair HX1000)?

When will FS 11 be out?

Is that MB the best to use? Is it reliable for OC? (more importantly--easy to OC?)
