Hey guys. I have some problems with my Anti-Aliasing in FSX. I run a GeForce 9600 M GT 512 MB. The problem was that when I turned on Gamma Correction and Anti-Aliasing mode on "Make the program setting better" and the setting at 16xQ, it would barely work in FSX at all. Example: (This is with 16x Anisotropic Filtering too, with the FSX filtering setting at Trillinear and Anti-Aliasing not enabled in game)
The Sharpen settng in Irfanview made it look better than it did in-game though.

And this one was with all the same above, just with AA enabled in the game.

Looks great and sharp in the second one, huh? Well, no problem, I thought, when I first saw how sharp it was with the AA turned on in the game. Then I noticed a drop of 6 FPS. That is not very good as I'm already down to 15-10 FPS in AI crowded areas. I can't stand flying with 6 FPS, but also, having stairs on an airplane tail just doesen't look right. But the drop in FPS wasn't the worst. The weird in-game AA made my mouse marker transparent too! What is this? The only way I can see where I'm turning in my altitude hold and speed hold etc. is when I disengage full-screen mode. That's not fun turning full-screen on and off just to change the heading or speed of my aircraft.

Hope you can help! My OS is Vista Home Premium 32-bit, if that helps.

Edit-I tried nHancer and all it's things too, even turned it at 32Q, helped just as much as normal card at 16Q.

16 and 32Q?

LOL!!

That should hit performance!

Combined 8xS

Follow the directions and DO NOT set "enhance in-game AA" in Nhancer!

make sure you installed the SERVICE for Vista with Nhancer during the install or the settings will not change due to the UAC system

FSX settings AA UNCHECKED, filtering: Trilinear

In DX10 Nhacer has no control and AA must be set in FSX (CHECKED)

Thanks a lot NickN, that helped me! Now to try my normal settings in big places with this.. only tried at VHHH now and that was with a steady 23-25 FPS.. in VC it was 14-18.

Cool Thanks for your help!
