Thank God we have Global warming and don't have to deal with that.

It just can't get warm fast enough... I hate the cold!

LOL and yet there is a massive cold snap hitting the north/east again. If reports are true then theres a good chance it may get cold enough again for niagara to freeze.

Indeed. These things go in cycles & we're due for another Big Freeze. The last one I remember was in 1962 - 63 & that lasted for several months. There's still time for it to happen this winter. Shocked

I recall seeing photos of this before. A  search on Google is full of references to this latest batch of photos & whether they're genuine. Must be doing the rounds at the moment. This is what Snopes.com has to say about it. http://www.snopes.com/photos/natural/niagarafalls.asp
The photos appear to be genuine but there is some doubt about the date & whether the Falls was totally frozen.

Snopes is probably right, there's no way to know for sure when and where these were actually taken for sure. But where ever and when ever they were taken, it's still cold as hell....lmao.

My mom was born in 1934 and my dad was born in 1932. My mom got married when she was 15 to get away from under a very strict father. She had me a year later, so it wasn't a shotgun wedding....lmao.

Funny part is, I was picking on my grandmother about my mom getting married so young. She laughed and said, "I was 14" Got married in 1925." All of their children grew up during the depression and WWII. They were all self reliant and tough!

Yikes! and I was griping about it going down to +26 F tonight. It's suppose to be +14 F tomorrow night and Friday night (possibly down to +11 F) and I'm below the Mason Dixon line about 350 hundred miles.... Shocked.

Better bring in the brass monkey, cause he's gonna freeze his brass off!

For the most part, the previous generations of my family were different than yours; they decided to try out adulthood a while before marrying and having their own children: closer to or in their thirties (my dad's life was quite more than half over when I was born). Even my youngest grandmother was born before 1900 but I met one of my great-grandmothers when she was 95 (more than 90 years older than I was).

As to the cold, the streams are currently Roll Eyes freezing over but not stopped. It was -1ºF when I walked to work.

Cool

Yep, better to freeze to death among friends and relatives than at school or work..... Wink

I've always heard that freezing the death is one of the better ways to die. I'm not in any hurry to test the theory, so I guess I'll have to take them at their word..... Wink
