Haven't heard of an OPTIM panel (neither has my friend Google), but our own Alrot created a 727-200 with a VC for FS9 a couple of years ago which then got updated for FSX; search the FS9 downloads section, it's probably still there. The current best freeware panel for the 727 IMHO is the one by Richard Probst, over at HJG (http://simviation.com/hjg/main.htm).

Im not sure what type of panel your talking about but Alrot has a great 727 with a panel and VC. Its also very realistic.

Hello, I am currently working on a project to update the VC for Alrot's B727 (FSX). I would like to get in touch with him to have his input on some aspects as well as his blessing for this mod. If anyone has any way of contacting him (I have tried his e-mail addresses included in the model's literature without luck) please let me know.

Here is the current state of the project [Draft still] for the gauges and instrumentation updates. Any and all feedback is very welcome! : )

Here are the updates to the VC panel update project for Alrot's B727...

Please note this is still at draft state. Not all instruments have been replaced (yet) and some are just there as placeholders.

Any comments/suggestions and questions are very welcome!

Update as of Jan 26,

...

Full size here:
http://www.mbcscap.com/B727/Update%20Main%20Panel%20-%2026JAN09.jpg

Modified instruments so far:
- Airspeed Indicator
- Dual needle RMI
- HSI w DME
- Dual DME
- GPWS (Work in progress)
- Altitude Alert (selector and aural/visual warning)
- Radio Altimeter
- VSI
- Elevator / Rudder position
- Yaw Damper switch
- OMI Lights switch
- Autopilot "MCP" (Lateral Nav selector, pitch mode selector and pitch command dial)
- Instrument Comparator (WIP)
- AP disconnect indicator
- Spoiler arm/ext indicators
- Fire handles and alarms
- Fire extinguisher discharge, selector and disc. indicator lights
- Thrust reverser deployed indicators
- EPR (non-functional, as the FS Variable is unusable [WIP])
- N1 - N2 gauges
- EGT (need to adjust .AIR file for proper values)
- Fuel Flow gauges
- Fuel quantity indicator (not real on the front panel of the B727, but, a must have for those of us flying this with only one crewman!) modeled after the "sunburst" indicators of the B737.
- Oil press (low) lamps
- Gear position indicators, gear doors lamp indicator
- Landing / NAV / Strobe / taxi / position / light switches, panel lights switches (correct positioning as per 727 OH panel)
- Main AP Panel (below TQ) [WIP]
- COM/NAV radios [WIP]

To do:
- Altimeter
- Attitude indicator
- AP/FD annunciator
- OMI lights (replace)
- Overhead panel (HYD, heat, starters, etc)
- 2d Officer panel (stand alone, distant future) for APU, pressurization, Oxygen, fuel feeds, fuel dumps, etc

All comments welcome, I am in need of assistance currently with the EPR formulation, if any kind soul wishes to contribute a hand on this end i will be eternally grateful. : )
