youll need DXTBMP (freeware) to convert textures for FSX. You also need a picture editing program like Photoshop (I recommend PS) if you dont want to spend money you can download a free editor called Pixia

There is FSRepaint by Abacus and I have it and I don't like it. It is easier but the painting tools are scarce. Photoshop has many more features and is just as easy once you get the hang of it. Wink DXTBMP is required for paint with anything but FSRepaint period. Wink

PSP will do the job but most of the paint kits out there are more geared for Photoshop.

a Paint Kit contains all the textures you need to paint a plane. Usually there is one master texture that has the whole fuselage on it then from there you paint your paint. once you are done you transfer it over to the .BMP files. this can be a tricky task. in photoshop you can use a combination of the Magic Wand tool and Quick selection tool, at least thats what i do. then once you are done there you send the files through DXTBmp and create the texture folder, add the entry into the Aircraft.cfg and you have yourself a painted plane Wink

You don't have yo convert to .bmp files. That depends on the plane in question. I work in .dds files Wink Smiley
