Im making a little "pocket repository" for formulas, rules of thumb, and general cheats, shortcuts, hints and tips to pilots.

within its small pages will be formulas for calculating cloud bases, converting lbs to gallons, converting C to F, Calculating VDP and other little neat things.

I plan to keep it close to me while instructing so i will always have a quick reference if i need it. Might even make copies for my students.

If any of you have any additions or suggestions or any formulas you think i should include, please share them here!

Cheesy thanks!

PS

I already have these:

Calculating a 3 degree glide slope descent rate
Calculating distance from the airport to start descent
true airspeed calculation
converting knots to miles per hour
compass error corrections
Climb gradient conversion to feet per minute
1 and 60 rule for navigation
estimating cloud layer
temperature conversion
pressure altitude estimation
conversion of fuel in lbs to gallons

Most of the things that come to mind for me, are kind of like rough, instinctual things (such as estimating TAS at a given altitude)..  Bit it has been a long time since I was a student (or instructor).

Your list is pretty thorough,...  if something comes to mind, I'll post it..
