I am getting a lovely DSLR for Christmas... I already have one date set up to do some model photography in the new year and perhaps a shoot in LA in the summer. Needless to say, over the past few years I have gathered a good many photos on various cameras and of different events.

Now I am looking to put them online. Build a portfolio of my work - Photographs, movie (probably from A-level media), etc.

Which host, for UK customers, would be best for this sort of thing? I have close to a gig of photos so far, but these are higher resolution ones.

I am looking for something with a fairly large storage capacity, largish bandwidth, ease of use (by that I mean it is easy for me to enter my own darn code!).

And which languages would you reccomend I use for this? Would it be alright just to do a table type layout, 4 by 5 or something in HTML and have various pages? What about to add searches and tags to images?

Cheers

I just use Flikr, but for unlimited and high resolution you do have to pay a nominal fee for a pro account.  Pics can be made public or private.

The Google thing? I thought that was just image editing and storage type things.

The have online albums too. I know a few people here have portfolios there, that's how I discovered it. Although I don't know much more about it than that, I was just offering up another suggestion.
