Im not really sure if this is the right section but...
I have an Andrea Anti Noise NC-61 headset with mic, it worked fine for ages and now since ive gone to vista and tried to use the mic part of it, nothing happens. (the speakers in it work fine)
I contacted the manufacturer to see if it is compatible with vista and they said:
"The microphone plugs into your soundcard mic input. Choose your soundcard as the recording input device."
Very usefull Huh
The microphone doesn't appear in the list of recording devices and when i open teamspeak it tells me there is no audio input device installed.
Any help gratefully received  Smiley

I confess that the heatdset is quite old. However i also have a much newer mic. which has a jack connection also, which doesnt register on the comp, (not practical for general use thought because its an actual hold and sing microphone thingy(my sisters honest Roll Eyes))
So im thinking im either doing something wrong in trying to find how to set it up, or im missing some sort of microphone driver Huh

Yeah, i may drop microsoft an email Wink

It sounds like you are missing the drivers completely Wink If it is old hardware Vista won't recognize and automatically install drivers. Don't use the disk that it came with if it did come with it. Go to their website and drop THEM an email and request the drivers for it. Wink

Ok, i havent heard anything back from either the manufacturer or microsoft. BUT...

With the info you guys gave about drivers, i had a look around the net. My computer is a dell so it wasnt difficult to have a look at their driver download page to see what iw as missing. Turns out i had neglected to update a fairly important sound driver, and hey presto, all is working fine (i think Grin)
Thanks for your time Wink
