Hi guys,

Looking at geting a NAS drive for Christmas for backup both my mac and my PC.

Looking at this one

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/128482/show_product_reviews

And also getting a 5 port swtich so that I can grab link the desktop and mac up to it easily and have a little 'mini' backup network type thing rather than plugging the drive in all the way downstairs.

What is the general opinion on using NAS drives for backups?

The other option is to get 2 seperate USB hard drives and use these. OR buy a caddy and then buy 2 harddrives to go in it - one for PC and one for mac but I have yet to see a case which will hold 2 hard drives!

Cheers

Tom

The QNAP 509 Pro is a very good NAS.
