THE DECEMBER SCREENSHOT CONTEST

The past year has proven to have it's "Ups & Downs"...
Now it is time to convey that feeling with your aircraft!
This Month's Theme Is Titled...

"DIZZYING HEIGHTS"

That's right... get Out The Barf Bag!
Tis' the Season to Get Dizzy!

For this contest, you will need to post a shot that somehow conveys the sense of height and or Dizziness!...

Any Aircraft will qualify but remember, the more "true to life" the shot, the greater your chances of winning.
What we mean by that is don't just take a shot of an inverted 747  Wink
Try to set the stage with scenery! Imagine yourself in an aerobatic prop plane buzzing the crowd.
Or maybe a shot from your cockpit as you dive bomb through the skies. Maybe you like inverted barnstorming!
Whatever the shot, we want to feel the sensation of height or feeling dizzy!!

Please see example below...

...

...

This Month's Prize is.....

ICARUS GOLDEN AGE - PITTS S-2B

...
A BIG Thanks to Gius and the guys at Icarusgold
for Donating this Month's Prize!

...

Good Luck to All and Thanks for playing!

We would like to wish you and yours
a very happy and healthy New Year!
The Simviation Moderating Team.

THE RULES

...

Below are the rules...  Any questions or comments should be directed to a judge and will be answered at the earliest available opportunity. Any contestant judged to have violated these rules will have his entry removed and be disqualified.  Please start a thread for your entries for each member...
Most of all, HAVE FUN!

Contest Starts DECEMBER 2ND, 2008
and Ends DECEMBER 25TH, 2008.

**
Linking images to other sites is NOT allowed and STRICTLY ENFORCED!**
YOU CAN ONLY USE A FREEWARE SCREENSHOT CAPTURE PROGRAM!

Active Camera, Walk & Follow are NOT allowed!!

1. This contest will run from December 2nd until December 25th, 2008. Entries submitted after Midnight on December 25th, 2008 EST will not be accepted.  Judging will occur after December 25th, 2008 EST and the 10 Finalists will be entered into the POLL that will be posted soon after! Now the Members will cast their vote in the Poll to determine this month's winner!

2. Open only to SimV forum members registered before
November 1, 2008.
This is to prohibit registering multiple user names to allow more entries. It is also enforced to discourage people  from joining just to try to win the monthly prize!  Sorry and better luck next time!

3. All images Must BE NO WIDER THAN 1024 AND NOT MORE THAN 150KB IN WIEGHT! No cropping, editing or adjusting your shot!! Any images over 150 kb in weight, and wider than 1024 will not be VALID!  This rule is now being enforced since This is a Screenshot Contest and we "want to see the RAW shot!" All entries must be uploaded to SimV.

4.
ONLY ONE ENTRY PER MEMBER!
Each contestant must start their own thread in the Screenshot Contest forum with their shot! Your entry must be included in this thread.

5. Screenshots from FS98, FS2000, FS2002, FS2004, FSX & CFS series only please!!

6. Once an entry is submitted, it may not be withdrawn.  This is to keep the confusion to a minimum, and to maintain forum integrity.  Entries may be withdrawn from the contest, but no additional entries from that member will be accepted.

7. Entries may be of freeware aircraft and scenery only! This keeps the playing field even!  Wink

8. Entries may not be edited in any way.  Any entry discovered to have been edited will be disqualified and the image removed from the contest.

9. All images must be produced specifically with the intent of entering them in this contest.  No screenshots previously posted images or pre-contest images will be accepted.

10. After the contest has ended and the judges have decided on the "Finalists", a "POLL" type thread will be started entitled, "Screenshot Finalists, Vote Now!" It will explain that the Poll will be closed within 48 hours. You must note the Post Time of this thread to know when it will close! This will allow the members to now vote for their favorite shot from the ones the judges have picked!

11. After 48 hours from the time the Finalist Announcement is made, the POLL will be closed and the Winner announced!

A REQUEST
We would like to ask the Author of each screenshot, to please supply us with the name & designer of the Aircraft in your post. So many people always ask "what aircraft is that", and We think it would be very informative for many of us if it were right there under the shot!
Thanks...

Sure, but why enter if I cannot benefit from any potential results?
I just got a new graphics cards, maybe if I am clever, I could have a decent shot at this competition, so naturally I wonder...

I think he might be wondering on what to do with the prize if he does not use FSX....as I am wondering as well.

I'll send in a shot in a few weeks anyway. This is going to be a very interesting, and close, competition.

If that is the case then I am sure that Icarusgold will substitute a FSX aircraft for a FS9 aircraft!

If I'm not mistaken, the last couple of winners of the montly contests did so with shots from FS9. Wink It still has plenty of life and potential left in it yet. Smiley

I think I'll be using FS9 this month also because it's to much of a hassle trying to avoid the payware problem in FSX. Wink FS9 is still great.

No, he left on his own.

When somebody leaves on their own, it will say "Ex-Member".
When somebody is banned, it will say nothing...

What I was implying is.. let us do the moderating or if you are going to try to help out, remember to be polite to new members.

it appears to me some are not getting what the theme is. My feeling is that in order to get the"feel" of dizzying heights, you would need to show the ground or something as a reference. Showing a plane in the air doest "tell" me that its high in the sky. There are a few here just just doent show it.

People interpret themes differently. And it's hard to set dowb specific rules and limits for a theme, and decide which shots follow them Wink
