OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM REAL ENVIRONMENT SIMULATIONS
Date: Tuesday, November 25, 2008
Real Environment Simulations is please to announce that Real Environment Xtreme for Microsoft's Flight Simulator X,
has gone GOLD.
An official release date will be announced within the next few days.
Real Environment Xtreme is a powerful, hi-definition, photoreal texture environment created entirely from state-of-the-art
photography. This new technology is tightly integrated with a full flight planner and weather engine to give the user the most realistic experience yet within flight simulation.
REX will be delivered using a new download manager tool we call FSS2Go. This will ensure downloads are resumed in the event an interruption occurs on the server and has built in segmented download allowing you to stream from several connections at once. I think you'll find you'll have a better experience this time Seth.

On the flightsim store don't forget to switch currency off to the right to US dollar or whatever you use to purchase. Cause its $39.95 in USD.

I hope the FS9 version doesn't take as long as the FSX to be released...

It works in conjuction with them.
The mind is like a parachute...it only works when it's open.

This looks very, very nice. It seems that this would take the place of Active Sky X (weather engine) and FEX (water & sky textures). Am I correct?
If I am correct, it seems too bad for the company and the costumers alike, that it took so long to get this product out. I know it takes time to get these programs right, but, ASX costs $45USD, the new ASA goes for $50USD and FEX has been selling for $45USD. It seems that the $40USD REX goes for, would have saved us a bunch of money, and, gotten us several quality programs in one ultra high quality program
In this case, I'd rather be wrong about all of this... Someone please tell me I'm wrong...
Semper Fi, Dave
You're wrong(ish). FEX adds a few more cloud textures (ASX I don't know.) But REX gives much better frames that ASX and FEX so nothing to get upset about.

Frames is super smooth and for some reason REX removed of the few blurries I now and then experienced.
I am not a fan boy, but o boy REX rocks
I believe there is nothing wrong with other products, I am sure they all are good. I assume it is pure preference.
