Grin That would be the main reason M$ would keep Vista! They love problems. Grin Do you realize how many billions of dollars would be lost in a move like that? Shocked  No, we suffer until the next one comes out. Everyone should have just stuck with XP and let Mr. Gates know about it that way. Wink Xp comes off the shelves soon. Better grab a copy while you still can. Wink

When I got my business laptop a couple of months ago, the guy at my local PC World told me that M$ had already indicated to the trade that Vista should not be supplied to business customers (consequently my laptop has XP). Also that Vista was only being supplied to the general public until the next iteration came along, since XP was not being supported from the end of the year...

Don't shout at me - it's just what I was told!

Chaos.

If this is the case, why would MS being running ads about Vista still promoting it?  Remember the ones about the Mojave experiment?

Hey Nick why dont you use vista Just wondering I dont tweak as much as you and have no idea alot of the things you talk about LOL but I have had it installed for a few months and kinda like it.  Why is Vista thought of as being bad So I choose the OS to use when I put my new system together after the first of the year.

Its up to you what you wish to use for OS

I will stick with XP x64 till either Windows 7 proves itself or they pry the mouse connected to XP out of my cold dead hand

Windows Vista is a combination of Windows CE Windows ME and Windows NT

I don't know why they would. IMO it is the best operating system they have released.

Our school has to run Windows 95 on one computer (A lathe, as that is a bit old too) and the rest has XP. I can't stand to use XP anymore. It is just too plain and outdated.

Vista getting dumped? Not for many years I wouldn't have thought. I am glad they are dropping XP though. Unlike Sony who are promoting sales of older items (still having PS2 games be made etc), Microsoft are atleast getting people into a more moder and better world.

Vista... Hated it for a week. Been lovin' it for over 18 months.
