Good afternoon all... Smiley

Hope I am in the right forum and not sure if these questions have been asked before.

I purchased Canada/Alaska Scenery for FS2004 when it came out and it will not work for FSX.

I was wondering if there is some new scenery for Bush Flying which includes other float aircraft, boats, camps, bases etc for FSX.

I do not think Canada in general, Ontario specifically are depicted well in any version of Microsoft Simulator.  I know of four airfields in our general area not even shown.

I tried downloading some scenery from Bush Flying Unlimited and it would not work well either.  I am wondering if it is Vista, FSX or both that are giving me the problem.  Perhaps the downloads are for FS 2004 only as there is no mention on the BFU site about them being compatible with FSX.

What would be great for me as I like to use the amphibious Maul, and a few other float aircraft I have found is to find some locations in the default scenery (hope I am correct in saying it that way) to do short hops from float plane base to float plane base/camp with lots of other boats, floatplanes, buildings etc present.

The northern part of the United States of America along the Great Lakes would be great.
Would anyone have any suggestions for some locations?
I found Alaska okay but the time between locations was a bit lengthy and I did not find any real good float plane bases with what I am asking for.

Would anyone here be a member of Bush Flying Unlimited and perhaps share some input as well.

Thanks in advance.   Smiley

I don't have any specific recommendations, as I don't use FSX, but you may want to browse through this website:

Nothing to do with scenery, but this gives a list of fsx water runways.
Hope this link works, if not just google it

Doug,

Here are some packages to look at. They will provide plenty of bush and seaplane bases with scenery.. These are all available in SimV's FSX Scenery downloads.

FSX Victoria-by Holger Sandmann and crew-2 part download-http://www.simviation.com/simviation/static.php?ID=63&page=11

Sceneries by Chris "Mocat" Carel:

Snow Dogs Tours-V2.0 and Part V-http://www.simviation.com/simviation/?ID=63&page=2&mark=443- (Should you run across parts I, II and III, you don't need them as they're included in V2.)

Also his Caribbean Seaplane Tours, 8 packages plus a Acceleration/SP2 fix. (not sure all 8 packages are on SimV)....

...and Land's End Seaplanes-will eventually connect Caribbean Seaplane and Snow Dog Tours up the east coast and across the northern states-2 packages so far.

These are all large downloads. Mocat's sceneries may slow weaker systems some due to large textures with no mips.....but they're all fun sceneries.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.          Igor Sikorsky

You know....you can just rip up a to-do list.
