'Lo!

OK, since getting the Dodosim 206B, it's all I can talk about - the aircraft is fantastic; I luv it, luv it, luv it.  Grin

So of course being me; I started tinkering with it.

I hate having to use 2D popup panels when in VC; so I started taking everything in the ship's popups and sticking them in here and there around the VC.

Astonishingly; it seems to work.  Shocked

Grin

Here are some pics.

This is the 'stock' Dodosim VC with the 2D popups up-popped. Nice - very nice, but a little bit cluttered.

Here's a pic of a Real 206B cockpit:

OK; below the radios on the console are the hydraulic and ice switches. Rather than leave them on the 2D panel, I thought it'd be good to put 'em in the VC; in their rightful place on the console. But where?

So - look at the console. If there's one thing this ship don't need; it's two radio units, so I took out Comm/Nav 2 to make room, shoved everything below up a bit and went to work.
I drew a simple switch panel on the bitmap, moved the switches around and voila!
Not content, I moved everything off the two main popups and a couple from the 2D main panel. In place of the popup panel buttons I put in the IOAT and cabin light switch; moved the TOT warning light test button down to the switch panel on the console. Now I just need to move the circuit breakers, come up with a better image for the switch panel and I'm done! Here's how it looks now:
...

Kewl, eh? Grin
OK; I'm just having fun here; if there's one thing I'm NOT good at it's panel design and repainting but this one's turning out well and I wanted to show it off a bit. Smiley I've written the designer, asking if he'd mind me releasing this panel mod to SimV upon completion but I haven't heard back from him yet.

Cheers!

Edited to make the pics a bit smaller. Wink

I guess we all like to "Tinker" as you call it..it's one of the more interesting aspects of simming....Customizing is a rather personal thing in my opinion and what you or I might think is the bees knees isn't necessarily what the next guy would do.... Wink

Whatever "dings your donger" is the way to go...have fun ..commoner Wink
