The MB you intend buying, is it PCI 2.0 Compatible?

No, it is a Asus P5 KPL-CM, my mate has one and a PCI-E 2.0 Card and it works, now how much power does it cut out of the card?

The card is backward compatible but to unleash its full potential it needs a 2.0 port with the proper drivers to enable to use that bandwidth...as far as I know.

I bought an Nvidia 1GB 8800GT PCI-E 2.0 card awhile ago.  My old motherboard was just standard PCI-E.  This new motherboard supports 2.0.  Really didn't notice any difference in performance with the new support.  I don't know if other cards would change that but I don't think there will be a truly noticeable difference. Undecided
