'Lo!
This might have been addressed earlier, but a search didn't find it.
I'd like input from folks who have both the iFly and PDMG 747's - the latter, I'm told, being the best of the payware 747's. The question is - before plunking down rather a lot of dough on the aircraft, how does it stack up to the freeware model?
I like complexity. Any aircraft that can be started with [Ctrl-E] is boring to me and the iFly's complex checklists and starting procedures, nav and electronic setup is just what I want when flying an airliner. After all, without it, it's simply a matter of turning on the AP wand waiting a long...long...time without anything happening.
The iFly would be ideal for me except for one serious problem: it's a total frame-rate killer. Taking off from any major airport quickly turns into a slideshow and frequently ends in disaster as I go hurtling down the runway at 1FPS. Which - after forty minutes of preflight, loading, starting and taxiing - is real irritating.
So, given the popularity of the PDMG, I'd love to know how it compares with the iFly; and whether it's worth my money.
Thanks!

By looking at the system requirements, I think you might need an even better pc for the PMDG 747 rather than the iFly one.

If your computer can't handle ther iFly, then don't bother with the PMDG, becuase it will be even more of a slideshow. I have the PMDG, but I don't fly it because it's too much of an FPS hit, I'm just waiting to update my computer. It's a sweet plane to have, but don't cough up that large sum of cash for it when you can't fly it.
