Sure was a quick flight. Even though I was on the server, and flying on the other side of the pond, I was watching the chat window

I spotted you a couple of times, Greg, trying to connect...

...what was going wrong?

FS 2004 is pretty stable, providing you don't have any of the dreaded "Port Problems"...(Router?)...

Shame you couldn't Join in... Cry...!

The swiss tours flights will be shorter than the last ones because of the mountainours terrain.

Oh and Greg please try to connect next time too as it might be me who was causing you the trouble. I didn't touch my ports in anyway but I did get a router. Just try again next time and i'll see if it is truly me or not. Embarrassed

Hello Greg... Smiley...!

...just a thought... Roll Eyes...

Assuming the Ports are open on your Router, (if you are using one), is there the possibility that your Windows Firewall is blocking access to and from the Multiplayer Server?

Firewall "Exceptions...>>>

Cheers....Wink...!

Just go to the stickies at the top of this forum section and utilize the link I posted there for the ChocolateSoftware port tester for FSHost servers.  No guessing:  it'll tell you if your ports are open.

best,

I found your "Port Tester" invaluable John, to convince me to throw my Troublesome Modem/Router away, and replace it with a simple Wired Modem after finding most of my Ports were closed!....and nothing in the Router software enabled me to open them! Cry...!

Even after purchasing the "Port Forwarding" program, (£17), it still did not cure the Port-opening problems on the Router... Cry...!

With just my simple wired Modem, and my Win Firewall unblocked, I don't get any probs in on-line Multiplayer!

Same here. It looks like all my ports for the game are blocked. I might have to do some more reading on my router to fully resolve the issue.  Sad

I don't know if its technically possible, but what are the possibilities of installing TWO devices; ie:

The Wired/ Wireless Modem + Router for general daily use...

...and a simple. low cost, wired Modem (only), for on-line Multiplayer activity....

.... and swap between them when the occasion arises?

Click on the icon for the selected device, and swap the Phone line plugs over?

F....full of crazy ideas... Roll Eyes... Grin...!
