I have an older (3-4 years) PC that I would like to use for my glass avionics via FSUIPC. It is running XP Professional, my FSX computer is running Vista 64.

Questions:

1) will they work together?
2) what video card should I use to drive the two 17" LCD's?
3) Anything else I need?

First step is getting the network working on the two machines.  All else depends on that.  Start there.  Vista / Xp is not as easy as XP/XP or Vista / Vista I understand./... but don't know firsthand (won't get NEAR Vista based on my Vista business laptop).

As to horsepower......... check the demands that the gauges you want to to run put on the machine.  Check with the mfgr of the gauges.  Ditto for multiple monitor suggestions.

I am running a Vista - XP network for day to day use, file transfers etc. It works fine in both directions. However, as much as I try, FSX does not want to know. If I figure it out, I will let you know.

OK, my "older" PC has an AMD 2200+ at 1.75ghz and 1gb RAM. I am using a dual dvi AGP video card to run the two monitors attached to it.

I want to use Ellie Systems Avionics. Can I use them with this?

Also, I will make this a Vista 64 machine to match my FSX computer.

Do you install Ellie on the slower PC? Also, to network the two PC's I can attach an ethernet cable between them, right? PC networking is new to me!
