Hey, before i start im not looking for a card that is good in flight sim, I buy all the newest games and am going for a card that is a good all rounder. My budget is around 300 and i was thinking the ATI HD 4870. Does anyone think this is a good choice or a good card?

That's if you have the correct PSU. It requires 2 - 6 pin power plugs.

I'd say a minimum 600W, also, depending on what else you have in your system, you might require something higher.

As of now the best card in the 200 range for FSX is the 8800GTX or Ultra. The 9 series is overpriced and I don't know about ATI. nVidia performs better in FSX anyways. Wink

To the Mods:

If I'm in the wrong for posting the short-cut in the previous post please remove and from what I've seen in some of the past infractions, anything but the hot marmalade dip. I'll do community service if possible Embarrassed

If you're running a 19" screen then I'd just go with a 9800GT. I've thought about it and a 4870 or 4850 is overkill for a relatively small screen.
