So, I set off in a real Lukla aircraft  Wink

Will this go right?  Undecided

Yes! Touchdown on the second attempt!  Grin

very nice pictures!!

i especially like the o ne where youre touching down.

havent tried the cessna up there yet, but i gotta ask you, how did you determine the mix settings for the otter? because no matter what i do to the mixture, the fuel flow remains the same, so i cant tell if i need more or less Sad

btw what cessna is that?

Thank you  Smiley

To set the mixture, look at the EGT (Exhaust Gas Temperature) gauge. Lean the mixture (pull it back) until the temperature peaks, then enrich (push it in) it a little bit. Some models don't have an EGT gauge, so you have to set the mixture by sound. The Otter by Aerosoft, although a great model, doesn't have an EGT gauge, so setting the mixture is unrealistic (unless there is a different way to set the mixture that I haven't learned.. I'm not a perfect sim pilot). I tried setting it by ear, but different settings didn't make a difference. I just kept it at full rich and took off.

That Cessna is the Cessna 182RG from Carenado. They're finally coming out with FULL FSX versions of their models!!!  Cheesy

Those are sweet pictures.  About the mixture for the Twin Otter.  The Otter is a turboprop so you don't lean the mixture.  Technically, there is no mixture control, it's actually a "Condition" lever.  Just set it to high idle before takeoff and leave it there for the whole flight.  Wink

Ahh, I knew I wasn't right in my explanation of the Otter's mixture control  Embarrassed Thanks for clearing that up  Wink

You bet, high idle is all the way forward.  Most turboporps say high idle, then low idle, with cutoff at the bottom of the throttle quadrant.  You can use high or low for taxiing, but on high idle you have to use a lot more beta.

Auto-mixture must also be turned off, in realism settings.
