Or the octal version, FS 1010.

(There are 0010 kinds of people in the world.  Those that understand octal, and those that do not.)

Hehe, I like that! I guess Im 0001 of those that know it! You could also call it binary

My specs... A hard drive, motherboard, graphics card, some memory, a keyboard, mouse, and monitor - in other words, nothing special.

Putting these octoid smart a... aside, what on earth would you want with the bare original FSX.

You can buy it on the web or at games stores anywhere.

I suspect that the present Flight Simulator X (as the boxes are branded) may already have SP1 included.

Without SP1 you will have to deal with the very resource intensive original that choked up most machines.

SP1 got rid of alpha, a sad but necessary truth, but for some made it less enjoyable than FS9.  We were and still are faced with autogen popping up in the mid-distance.  However we got a much better batching system and therefore better performance.

You can download SP2 for free which amongst other things gives us some threading and better performance as a result.

This means that you don't need to buy the add-on Acceleration with its new helos and jet fighters.

So what do you mean by a bare, or back to nature version?

It would be ironic if the next gen of hardware actually made the original flyable - the irony is that a number of add-ons have been made for SP2 and might not work in the original.  But you would have alpha back which would allow autogen to fade-in rather than pop-up in the mid distance.
