Hi Im looking towards upgrading the graphics card on my HP pavilion 762n (new computer is out of the question). I need some advice on which card to get, 126 mb would be nice. I currently have a nvidia geforce 4 mx420 (AGP). Also do i need to change the power supply on my computer? I think my pavillion has a 200 watt supply. Should I upgrade the psu and card by myself or send it to a shop? Thanks.

Get yourself an AGP Radeon 9550 or Nvidia 5200. That's about as good as you'll get for your budget.. and chances are you shouldn't need to upgrade the PSU with those two either.

thanks for the help, should i get the 128 mb or the 256 mb models , theyre within my budget. I worried that the 200 watt PSU cant handle the 256 mb.

I recommend the Ati Radeon 9550...

Have had it for a lot of time...  works nicely Smiley

With 1GB of RAM and a good P4 processor, it can run FS2004 quite good Wink

Well let me be honest with you.
$50 worth of update is almost impossible, i would advise you to get and 9700 pro (agp), you can get oe 256mg NEW for $60.
You also can get a 500w (maybe its too much) for $27.All on ebay, just to give you an idea.
This will make a dif you can see, and it will last you more as an upgrade.
hope it helped.
Tell us what you decided.
