Hello All!!!

I just spent the last 2 or so hours adding about 30 liveries that I got from avsim for my overland fleet. Can anyone tell me what I have done wrong I edited the aircraft.cfg and placed the textures where they go (I have been doing that since FS9) so I am pretty sure I did everything right. When I load FSX only about 5 maybe 6 of them show up. I am pissed to say the least Please HELP!!!

Also the ones that do show up have plane with a question mark as the picutre. I am used to this because at least the paint itself works. What is frustrating is the fact the information is right there and FSX just ignores it!!!

Sorry for the Rant any advice as usual is GREATLY appreciated!!!

Recheck your [Fltsim.x] number sequences. If any one is not in proper sequence, then it and all below it will not work.

The thumbnail with the question mark indicates there is no proper thumbnail.jpg in that aircraft's texture folder.

So, if you have the proper thumbnail file in the texture folder you have to resize the image, is that why it won't show up?

I have checked the numbe sequnce and they are all good and in order.

Is it possible that because these repaints were designed for FS9 thatthey will not work in FSX I thought that FSX and FS9 shared a common configuration for repaints and addon liveries.

What I am basically saying is that if a repaint works in FS9 it should work in FSX. That was my understanding anyway.

Thank you for the quick response!

There is a file  here called autothumbnail. You just load the first plane, run it and it will genertae thumbnails for all the othe repaints for you.

Thank You so much dude!!! You are a life saver. I didn't get the other planes goin yet, but I did fix the ones that would not show up with a thumbnail. That autothumbnail works like a charm!!! Grin

I still nedd help though tryin to figure out how to get FSX to recognize the other planes (textures) that I have loaded.

Thank You in advance for your help!!!

Make sure you don't remove parts of the aircraft.cfg file while adding repaints, or removing some of the other texture logs.

It's very easy to do when you add 30 at a time. Grin

I think adding 30 repaints at the same time is a recipe for disaster. I suggest starting from scratch & adding them one at a time, checking each one out in FSX before adding another one. This might sound tedious but it would actually be much quicker & more successful than the method you're using.

There is a basic difference between the Aircraft.cfg entries in FS9 & FSX. Some FSX [fltsim.x] entries are in quotes like this.

[fltsim.0]
title=Learjet 45
sim=Lear45
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=
kb_checklists=Lear45_check
kb_reference=Lear45_ref
atc_id=JA-068X
ui_manufacturer="Bombardier"
ui_type="Learjet 45"
ui_variation="Gold, Black"

This can affect how the aircraft display on the selection menu. There are also extra entries. When in doubt use a default Aircraft.cfg for reference.
