Here's why:
Not enough violence, gunshots, explosions and "I'll be back"
But in all seriousness... with the way things have been going... "Marjorie Dawes brings her Fat Fighters club to the USA"... That is just brilliant. Lol.
Must try and find said episode.

I don't think it is "British' humor that is in question, rather it is just somewhat tasteless, schoolyard, bahroom humor that is not too well received.
Granted, British and US humor can differ at times but, funny is funny no mater where you are.
British humor has always be popular in the US and some British comedy shows have always been a staple on the US "public broadcasting system" (PBS).
Although not 100% mainsteam (yet) Brithish humor enjoys more popularity in the US than some Brits may realize.

I've found over the years that some of my American and Canadian friends struggle with sarcasm and black humour (not the Eddie Murphy kind). It is one of those cultural differences. A lot of people think Friends is funny, I think it is lame. Humour is such a personal thing....

Indeed. I don't think this is typical British humour at all & have to agree with our American cousins. I must be the only person in this country who hasn't watched a single episode. I've seen a couple of clips which I didn't find amusing in the slightest. I find it tasteless & offensive like a lot of so-called comedy these days. Perhaps I'm one of the few prepared to tell the truth instead of going along with the crowd.

Yes... the Americans don't like our humour.... (in general)
Having said that, I liked the first series of LB but it has got very repetitive!
On a better note...

I like British humor. It's sophisticated. You don't laugh at it as much as you just listen to it. It's full of references about which Americans know little to nothing about. I also like American humor, but I have zero use for profanity and vulgarity in it...
My system: AMD Phenom 9500 cpu, 2 x eVGA e-GeForce 8800GTS Superclocked vidcards (640Mb DDR3 each), Zalman "sunflower" 9700 fan, Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4 mobo, 4Gb G.Skill PC2-6400 DDR2 800Mhz RAM, 2 x Sony 20X DVD writers, Thermaltake Toughpower 850W modular p/s, 7 x 120mm fans, Windows XP Home and SP3, 2 x 250Gb Western Digital SATA-300 HDs (1 for apps, 1 for storage and precious files backup), CoolerMaster CM 690 case, NOD-32. Won't run FSX. Locks up a lot with FS9, too.
