so no one is a fan of the Sauber Mercedes C9?  I think it looks better than the Jag, and even set the Le Mans speed trap record at 253mph, I believe

It's nice looking enough, but maybe a little bit generic in the body design? Huh But it's all about what's under the bonnet, right? Wink

The sauber C9 is a favorite of mine, but being british, i love the Jags.

Awesome cars - if you look on youtube theres several films with Jackie Stewart 'testing' various cars, williams, benettons, that sort of thing - and one of them is this jag, and he stuffs it at silverstone then trys to tell us why....its really quite funny Grin

For a Brit that would be heresy! Grin Never liked the Sauber C9 as a kid (particularly as I did Le Mans in 1989!), although the 1988 AEG sponsored colour scheme was fairly cool. Smiley I was never a fan of Porsche 962s either, but now I find them very nice indeed. Well engineered!

As for the record, apparently a C9 did 248mph in 1989 qualifying, however (and I didn't know this at all) before Peugeot did a works entry (run by that Todt bloke), there was a minnow team called W.M Peugeot (who designed "very French" looking cars - think 70/80s French styling!). It seems in 1988 they taped over every opening during the race to set 251mph! Then (unsurprisingly) the engine blew! Grin

It's so ugly, a google search brings up only one pic!

I thought I had! I obviously didn't! Grin As I say, French styling has always been a bit hit and miss. Some are classic, some look, at best, odd.

Nice, but was never a fan of the batmobilesque rear wings of the 70s and early 80s Le Mans cars! Smiley
