I've heard that nothing is every really deleted in a computer, and I had a video clip from a few years back of me and my friend tearing around on a go-kart we built, ok it was a bit of scaffolding with an engine and a seat but it was great fun. Anyhow over the years I've most likely deleted the video clip and now I really would like to recover it but have no idea if that is even possible. Any help would be great. Smiley

I would seriously imagine that the file (accidentally "Deleted") has long been overwritten by your most recent data... Cry...!

Although a "Deleted" file remains on the Hard Drive, because its location is no longer Flagged and protected in the Directory, it will subsequently get overwritten by more recent Data.

F.

P.S. Its always a good idea to save your most treasured Files onto a CD every now and again, before they get "lost"... Wink...!

...(Famous "Last words").... Grin...!

It is possible with the right software. I recently purchased a little program that recovered some photos from a formatted memory card that I thought were lost for ever. That alone made it well worth the money. The software I have was on special offer & is no longer available but I'm sure there are many alternatives. http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=file+recovery+software&btnG=Google+Search...

How long have the files been deleted? If it has been more than a week I would highly doubt that it would be still recoverable. My mom recently deleted a few important files on her USB Jumpdrive and realized that they do not go to the recycle bin when deleted. As soon as she told me that she had deleted the data I told her not to save anything else on the drive and my dad brought it to work and had a tech here who had software to recover lost files pull as much a she could (about 75% of the files that had been lost).

If it were me I would not waste my money on new software but it is entirely up to you Smiley

If it has been that long, and you have used the drive a lot then it is almost certain it has been over written. Or you could get lucky. Earlier this week I recovered an old software coding project I deleted 3 years ago. I was lucky that the section it lied in hasn't been over written with new data
