Traded in Assassins Creed, Crysis and COD4 for this piece of F@@@ING S@@T!!!!!

...
...
...
...
...

This is what all the foums have said and it's 100% true: (not my words)

Its just not what i expected. They have promised alot wich actualy came out as a lie or got removed. I know there is a thread about a personal review... but personal reviews are about personal opinions =P... So here is my opinion/review:

Cell: I think it wos fun. I didnt believe others saying that its hard but it actualy wos. The bigger ones keep chasing you till the end. ( or atleast untill you grow bigger than them ). And sometimes the other meat eaters gand up and annoy you. TIP: never get between two meat eaters. ( i know its carnivore but meat eaters sound funny ).

Creature: It wos okay... as mentioned before it wos WAY too short. I finished it in less than a hour. And yeah... the lack of abilities is bad too. Only 4 attack and 4 social skills.

Tribe: Again it wos way too short. And there wosnt so many weapons and stuff to do... You just socialize or conquer.. thats it.. finished it in less than an hour. ( hehe.. im a nerd.. and yes.. its on medium )

Civ: And again... way too short... but there wos atleast cool abilities and there wos 5 of them WOOT.. lol... the big bomb thingy wos awesome.. the editors were cool too... but the weapon projectiles annoyed me... ground and sea vehicles use mortars ( and i added machine guns and cannons on them ) .. meh... if you guys want a good civ game with lotsa weapons and stuff than i recommend Empire Earth 2 or 3...

Space: HUGE!! and i meant it... HUUUUGE disappointment... looks like in the videos they used cheats and stuff so other races wont attack them and stuff. The number of attacks and the time between them is purely annoying... + the the planet system failures.. ohco.. or echo.. cant spell it in english =/ .. and theres tons of restricts too.. like.. you cant colonize a solar system where theres already a tribe or a civ or a space colony already. THATS BAAAD! I wanted to put colonizes in the same solar system where tribes are or an enemy race.. to annoy them.. and this wos mentioned before too: WHY IS AI COLONIES SO UBER?!! They send lotsa ships to invade your planets.. and they can invade one in the same time wich doubles the number of them or they can attack another place in the same time... THATS ****ing bull****. And when you enter their systems little ships fly at you... why cant your system have that too?! they can attack any of my places randomly and my planets cant defend them selves.. while theirs can.. thats just... just.. SO ANNOYING!!. Now i can go on and on with the bad things.. because theres so many.. so.. here it is... time for a rating.. wich will be included in the gaming magazine in Hungary:

Graphics: Meduim-Poor
Gameplay: Medium
Lenght: Short

Waspi here, if you downloaded the creature creator then just have fun with that, dont shell out over £30.00 for this piece of crap.
Your creatures dont come out all nice and shiny like the demo I mean just look at my shots + no AA settings. It's cheap nasty, dull and just plain dreadful. All the options to dance ,attack,  talk etc where the F@@K are they??????Thanks EA you tossers Angry
Cheers Wink Tongue

(sorry about this guys spelling in the review)

ps.good job I got the NOCD cracks for my games I got rid of Wink

i was going to buy thus until EA pulled the DRM crap of only 3 installs before you had to deal with EA support! F**K that! 3installs is nothing! its renting not buying!

the game itself could have been something awesome, it was hyped, but hype makes me more suspicious than curious considering how good reviews are purchased through Adverts in magazines!

I played this for a few hours on sunday afternoon and all i can say is, im glad this was a title i downloaded! i am not forking out £30 for A. a game which was stripped of any advanced features to make it playable to any man and his dog and that B. is a rental more than a purchase.

you can the man behind this game was the mind behind the sim's, underlying is the same, start small build big through no real thinking or innovation of game play.

in future, ignore hype! ignore a game that has huge adverts on websites/magazines months before its release because it is more than likely going to be bollocks!.... unless that title was created by valve in which case it will be awesome!

I read the reviews on Amazon the day after it came out, over a thousand reviews and every single review (except two or three) was a 1 star review with an angry customer who is now stuck with "renting" this game.   Same thing on Fark.com, read the thread about the spore release and they are PISSED!

I don't promote software pirating, and I am not going to do it, I am only saying this because it is true, you can pirate a BETTER version of spore.  Spore comes with a virus called Securom which is used as a hardware detector/reporting virus.  The only way it can be removed is to format your machine.  Even if you uninstall the game, the virus is still there and on some machines it wreaks havoc!   Add that to the whole DRM issue, I'm calling FAIL on EA games.

The pirated version doesnt have the DRM or the virus, plus it came out a week before EA released the game, so what the heck was the point of EA even keeping this malware on it?  Way to go EA, punish the customers who actually pay for the game while the pirates enjoy a malware-free copy for free, and a week early at that.  I know they lost a lot of money because of this after seeing so many would-be customers in disgust over the DRM.

Now please don't go thinking I am endorsing pirates or anything, I firmly believe in supporting developers and I do not steal their work, I was just making a point at how EA screwed up in making the paying customer suffer!

Glad you posted your screens and a first hand experience here, gives us SimV members a heads up.

I dont know what people were expecting.
If you put too many abilities and attacks for instance you just end up unbeatable.
I've followed the game through developement from the start, and I must say I am enjoying it.
I wonder if a lot of people who are complaining are those who have heard about it from others, raised their expectations far to high without actually looking into the game first and are now dissapointed.
It can get a bit repetitive at times, but then again, it's also good fun to just pick and choose your battles.

There is nothing more I hate then a game with little variation.

Assasins Creed was the worst game I ever played in my life because the variety was non-existant after the first complete assasination.

I was sceptical of spore since day 1, so I decided for others to buy it 1st, and then I will browse people comments.

Man was I clever not to have bought it. Forums are loaded with negative comments.

1st: Its bad to hype something too much.
2nd: No variety is bad.

Glad I did not buy this and I have no intention to do so either, I'll rather buy Mercenries 2 or Stalker clear sky or Crysis warhead.

Shocked Shocked You traded COD4 for this. I will never trade that game in a million years for anything. Its multiplayer rocks!

Yeah besides been too short I heard it is just as buggy as the first 1. I'll wait on that till there is some patches.

Over and above that the carry limit is also a pain in the back-side. So I guess waiting for mods is the name of the game.

Ill put it on hold and first go for Crysis Warhead, cant go wrong there  Cheesy

i puchased clear sky instead of spore, it is buggy Sad but the guys who are making STALKER need support, a small development group with a generaly interesting idea. Clear Sky is awesome though and well worth getting! £30 well spent I say.

@craig, i have not been a close follower of spore, but i have been reading articles on it when they pop up, the game could have been so much more but it has failed, end of! and EA have just annoyed everyone with its DRM method.

I got Spore on release day and, although it doesn't quite live up to the hype, I really quite like it.

And the graphics on mine are actually rather good, I'll post some shots later.

I guess the downside is the DRM, if I'd known about that before I wouldn't have bought it, simply for that reason.
I don't agree with piracy in any way, but I hate how they think punishing legit owners of the game is a good idea to stop pircay Angry.

me too... i've been waiting for Spore since 2006... and following closely on fan forums...

to be honest, i lost faith in Spore being the awesome game it was cracked up to be when i first saw their official logo (the fisher-price looking one) i knew right then that Spore would look and play childish... they effectively dumbed down the game to the point where it's no longer appealing... visually at least... i haven't played it yet, but i have to admit i'm not in a real hurry to buy it anymore...

the DRM thing was the drop that overfilled the bucket, all i can say is WHAT WERE THEY THINKING???? --better yet, make that drop a rushing torrent of $**#

the Spore producers managed to make the game not appeal to the average gamer, and i have my doubts that it will also appeal to the casual audience as well... now it's essentially playing doll-house with alien creatures you won't identify with... which is a real long drop for a game that initially looked like playing a discovery channel documentary

...i will probably still buy the game though... i didn't wait almost 3 years to not buy the game... but my expectations are on the floor right now...
at least the editors still interest me, worst case scenario Spore will still be a good 3D sketch maker... (too bad they removed the 'export to Maya' option, but i've heard some chap managed to extract a model)

the good thing about not having any expectations anymore is that now i can only be pleasantly surprised (right?)  Roll Eyes

Cheers

FAIL: a simple, short word capable of describing the Spore fiasco to it´s full extent...

never i have seen, or even thought possible such a MASSIVE dissapointment, betrail, if you will, could be imposed on the gaming world...

given the potential this game had, and promises that were made prior to it´s release, i can confidently state that Spore is THE BIGGEST FLOP IN GAMING HISTORY!... it will prove itself as even worse over the next months or so... as more and more people grow frustrated and angry over it

many reviewers gave it 1/10 rating... just out of frustration over the lower-than-unmatched expectations and grief over the DRM issue

EA has now sunk to a massive new low... the only wordws to discribe it are "TOTAL LOSS"...

never again shall i buy a game with that foul label on it! i strongly advise every serious gamer out there to keep away from it

EA = gaming industry cancer!

the foulest of the foul, Maxis and Will Wright are also aboard that burning filth-loaded failboat

SPORE = FAIL!

Now now i wouldn't say EA is a crappy game producer as they have created some of the best games i've ever played!

Need For Speed Series
Battlefield Series
Mirrors Edge
Dead Space
Crysis
Command & Conquer Series
FIFA Soccer
Jane's Combat Simulations
007 Series
Medal of Honor Series

i could keep going but i can't really be bothered  Grin

no EA are a crappy game producer, they buy out small development groups place stupid marketing deadlines on them and seem to quite happily release buggy titles with attitude 'well you have it know wait for a patch'.  EA are absolutle dog excrement!

Most of them arent produced by EA, but only published. Take Left 4 dead, its developed and published on the internet through steam by Valve, and published in the retail chain by EA.

EA usually buys up studios, lets them finish a good title, and then it usually go's downhill. I still blame them for killing Westwood and the C&C franchise... Cry

having now played Spore i can also give a well-formed opinion...

FAIL!!!!

i feel deceived and betrayed!! betrayed for actually having WAITED for this game, and actually having been sucked into the hype-vortex they so cunningly fed and then being presented THIS!!! imagine my chagrin and dismay had i actually paid for the game.

the level of FAILURE this game has achieved defies description... i  played the game all through Space ONCE, then i COULDN'T keep on playing, so ANNOYING the constant planet babysitting, so SHALLOW the actual gameplay, so CHILDISH the graphics...

really, WHO did they make this game for??? retards?? this game can't appeal to ANYONE in it's current state... they have fallen right into the hole they were trying to avoid

not that they could make it any better now, it just won't be... Spore is beyond repair.

and i won't get into the subject of EA, because... well i'm having a good day so far... let's not ruin it

Cheers!! stay away from Spore

HarvesteR

the sad part is how much i tried to enjoy the game... i waited for it for so long... i really tried to see any positive aspect in it, but it actually seems like Maxis went through a tremendous effort to REMOVE all the fun out of an inherently fun concept

the DRM is, then, rendered a moot point... the game is so bad you won't WANT to install it more then once anyways, so don't worry about the limit... it's probably better for your health that it is there  Tongue
