It's EA / Maxis with graphics that are like a cartoon. Honestly, I never expected it to be good. Smiley

aw man this bums me out. I was really looking forward to spores.

me too... i've been waiting for Spore since 2006... and following closely on fan forums...

to be honest, i lost faith in Spore being the awesome game it was cracked up to be when i first saw their official logo (the fisher-price looking one) i knew right then that Spore would look and play childish... they effectively dumbed down the game to the point where it's no longer appealing... visually at least... i haven't played it yet, but i have to admit i'm not in a real hurry to buy it anymore...

the DRM thing was the drop that overfilled the bucket, all i can say is WHAT WERE THEY THINKING???? --better yet, make that drop a rushing torrent of $**#

the Spore producers managed to make the game not appeal to the average gamer, and i have my doubts that it will also appeal to the casual audience as well... now it's essentially playing doll-house with alien creatures you won't identify with... which is a real long drop for a game that initially looked like playing a discovery channel documentary

...i will probably still buy the game though... i didn't wait almost 3 years to not buy the game... but my expectations are on the floor right now...
at least the editors still interest me, worst case scenario Spore will still be a good 3D sketch maker... (too bad they removed the 'export to Maya' option, but i've heard some chap managed to extract a model)

the good thing about not having any expectations anymore is that now i can only be pleasantly surprised (right?)  Roll Eyes

Cheers

FAIL: a simple, short word capable of describing the Spore fiasco to it´s full extent...

never i have seen, or even thought possible such a MASSIVE dissapointment, betrail, if you will, could be imposed on the gaming world...

given the potential this game had, and promises that were made prior to it´s release, i can confidently state that Spore is THE BIGGEST FLOP IN GAMING HISTORY!... it will prove itself as even worse over the next months or so... as more and more people grow frustrated and angry over it

many reviewers gave it 1/10 rating... just out of frustration over the lower-than-unmatched expectations and grief over the DRM issue

EA has now sunk to a massive new low... the only wordws to discribe it are "TOTAL LOSS"...

never again shall i buy a game with that foul label on it! i strongly advise every serious gamer out there to keep away from it

EA = gaming industry cancer!

the foulest of the foul, Maxis and Will Wright are also aboard that burning filth-loaded failboat

SPORE = FAIL!

Now now i wouldn't say EA is a crappy game producer as they have created some of the best games i've ever played!

Need For Speed Series
Battlefield Series
Mirrors Edge
Dead Space
Crysis
Command & Conquer Series
FIFA Soccer
Jane's Combat Simulations
007 Series
Medal of Honor Series

i could keep going but i can't really be bothered  Grin

no EA are a crappy game producer, they buy out small development groups place stupid marketing deadlines on them and seem to quite happily release buggy titles with attitude 'well you have it know wait for a patch'.  EA are absolutle dog excrement!

Most of them arent produced by EA, but only published. Take Left 4 dead, its developed and published on the internet through steam by Valve, and published in the retail chain by EA.

EA usually buys up studios, lets them finish a good title, and then it usually go's downhill. I still blame them for killing Westwood and the C&C franchise... Cry

having now played Spore i can also give a well-formed opinion...

FAIL!!!!

i feel deceived and betrayed!! betrayed for actually having WAITED for this game, and actually having been sucked into the hype-vortex they so cunningly fed and then being presented THIS!!! imagine my chagrin and dismay had i actually paid for the game.

the level of FAILURE this game has achieved defies description... i  played the game all through Space ONCE, then i COULDN'T keep on playing, so ANNOYING the constant planet babysitting, so SHALLOW the actual gameplay, so CHILDISH the graphics...

really, WHO did they make this game for??? retards?? this game can't appeal to ANYONE in it's current state... they have fallen right into the hole they were trying to avoid

not that they could make it any better now, it just won't be... Spore is beyond repair.

and i won't get into the subject of EA, because... well i'm having a good day so far... let's not ruin it

Cheers!! stay away from Spore

the sad part is how much i tried to enjoy the game... i waited for it for so long... i really tried to see any positive aspect in it, but it actually seems like Maxis went through a tremendous effort to REMOVE all the fun out of an inherently fun concept

the DRM is, then, rendered a moot point... the game is so bad you won't WANT to install it more then once anyways, so don't worry about the limit... it's probably better for your health that it is there  Tongue
