Have you gotten any add ons for it yet? If not, I would recommend Orbiter Sound, and the DGIV by Dan. Also, the Shuttle and Station Fleet's most recent versions. AMSO too (Apollo Mission Simulator for Orbier). That will get you started, but I have hundreds of these downloads, since Orbiter by itself doesn't come with much.

ok dl'd the apollo mission simulator and extracted it to my orbiter file but nothing apollo shows up in the orbiter launch pad....did I install it correctly? if so How do I get to the apollo missions?

You should just need to extract to thee main Orbiter folder. Check the readme for info. As for missions, it comes with tons of them.
