WINNERS, WINNERS, WINNERS

Judge Ferrari wished to see aircraft touching down and there were no shortage of entrants… He’s picked his best three, and they are…:

In first place…

RAFLeigh!!!!

...

"This shot had a perfect balance of...well....almost everything! The grass and mountains in the background makes it very pleasent to look at. I think this is one of the rare shots where simplicity makes it a winner!”

CONGRATULATIONS, RAFLEIGH!!!!

In second place….

Todayshorse!!

...

"The scenery in the background and the color of the paint scheme make it a very well-rounded shot as well. This shot also has a nice editing touch with the jet-blast and the lights.”

And in third place…

GtiRob01!

...

“Another shot with a nice editing touch. The chase plane at the top adds a very nice touch as well. Lots of smoke from the tires on this one!”

“Thanks for participating in this JC comp, I really enjoyed being the judge!”

Ferrari308guy

After Judges Fighter and Ferrari we have Judge….RAFLeigh. But will it be an RAF theme? Doesn’t have to be…

Cheers

Krigl

Must it be touchdown, or can it be a super-short final?

Great shots so far guys!  Smiley

To clarify the touchdown: it does not have to be the exact point of 'touchdown,' but I would like it to be pretty close (I'll give you a little breathing room). Use your gut to determine what you think 'touchdown' means...

Just don't give me one of these touchdowns...  Tongue

Had someone posted a shot like that with the NY Jets (JETS, get it?), I would have given them top marks for thinking outside the box.

Heck! Thats great! I searched for 1)a lunar module to somehow do a touchdown on tranquility base (fail!- no idea how i would have done it anyway!) 2) a command module to do a 'splashdown' (fail - not that i could find anyway!) and 3)a decent space shuttle. (fail) where'd you find that?

I went with the usual airliner shot but i guess i should have searched harder! Top shot that is indeed! Cool

Thanks! Yea, I decided to do it a little different this time around. Ive had the shuttle for a while now.... just had to find the NASA T-38 to complete the shot. Got the shuttle right here at simv in the fsx misc section, and the T-38 at avsim. Would have liked a little more background scenery, but realistically... theres not much to see in the middle of a dry lake bed!

I agree!

I was waiting for someone to do one with the shuttle piggy back on a 747, but this shot is very good Wink

FM, thanks for the compliment on my shot.

I know it's a bit late but I think that here's a nice touchdown.

However I think the approach is much more interesting Roll Eyes
