Phantom,

I've never had any problems following ai flights from start to finish.

I installed the Meridian Hawks pack. I followed the flight of Bobcats 11, 12 and 13 from Meridian to Cherry Point (KNKT), 600nm, from takeoff to landing.

Like was said before airplanes disappear after they are 10NM for your  "START Location".  is there a way to to change your start location as you are flying...

They only disappear (no longer visible) at 10mi, but they are still active until they leave the active area (120mi rectangle centered on your aircraft). The active area does move with your aircraft, therefore any ai that stay within that area  as you fly, should remain visible if within 10mi, or remain on the active list in Traffic Toolbox Explorer.

One problem that can happen when following ai, is as I mentioned before: "AI 'pilots' are a very cautious lot. They do not like player aircraft flying to close, particularly during departure and arrival manuvers. If you are to close (within a mile or two) they may not make their turns to stay on course. If they are 'forced' to far off course they will eventually disappear."

So during departure and arrival, you should stay well clear, 1mi or more, so that the ai can comply with atc of fp vectoring. Once the ai is 'on course' you can close in.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.          Igor Sikorsky

You know....you can just rip up a to-do list.
