Does anybody have any inside information on the Carenado payware aircraft company?  i am sure they have aircraft projects in the works, I wish i knew what they might be.  For instance, I had no idea they were working on a Mooney model until it was up for sale!  I sure do love the products they sale.

i did today, thought i would give a shout here too, because i like the site and the people.  Might have even sparked a conversation about what light plane they would like carenado to make next. Smiley

I rekon they should go a little old-school on us!

I absolutely love their stuff, i have a couple of their product... god i seem to have my share of paywares...   Shocked

Like in the topic in aircraft wanted, something like a cessna 180 a turbo beaver... something for the bush... i love to fly the U206 around the alaskan bush but its fairly new and probably doesnt feature much out there, so an older taildragger.... although that would make floats difficult... but an older aircraft, a pure bush plane maybe...

and man can i ramble!!!

The 206 is great.  Carenado is going to update the whole fleet to full FSX so they will be busy for a while.  A turbo beaver would be cool but there is already too many beavers on the market, freeware and payware...another company doing it wouldn't sell enough to be profitable.  i think they should expand the Cessna fleet, they do sell the best cessna models of anybody.  Yeah they would model a Husky the right way...thats another plane worth making that you don't see for flight sim!

According to their website, they have stopped making aircraft compatible for FS2004, and are now working on an FSX only Cessna 152.

That sort of stinks about the 152. Good for training but not much else.  They used to have a 152 that looked like that for fs2002 I think.  I like 150's, they don't have much room in the cockpit but are light on the controls and have ok STOL performance, I landed one in less than 300 feet one time at a fly in, the shortest landing of the day.  Took me twice that to takeoff though!

Shocked they are going just FSX?!?!

That sucks!!  I rekon the majority of people still fly FS9, if not at least more than fly FSX now, and they make amasing models! I rekon it would definately be worth their while to make the fs2004 models too!

Maybe they could even allow someone to take their new fsx models and convert them back to fs2004... if thats possible...?

I am a FS9 user and plan to one day upgrade, when i have too...looks like that may be sooner than later Angry Wish FS9 had the water textures of FSX, then I would be happy for a long while!

Here is the E-Mail I sent Carenado Roll Eyes

As a past customer I think your move to do only FSX aircraft is a bad move!
I fly online and offline a lot and most everybody I know and fly with uses FS9  not FSX.
Just an FYI I have FSX and I still always use FS9.
You should reconsider your plan and not turn your back on good customers who have the money to buy your aircraft.
I and others who I fly with think it will take a few years for FSX to even come close to being as user friendly and fun as FS9.
Now with all that being said you need to make a Cessna 180/185 (....can you guess....) for FS9
Thanks

right... well lets have a quick sweep stake!

What is the betting that you wont recieve an email back?!?  Grin

Im amased that they have gone pure FSX already. In a few years time when more people have better computers s they are cheaper an when fsx itself and the other addons like sp1 and accelleration or whatever it is that i have heard of are cheaper and therefore more people use FSX then i would completely agree with a move to pure FSX but i dont think they will make enough money from just FSX...

And to be honest i dont think it will last either, i think that they will release at least one more fs9 aircraft when they realise the mistake that they have made!  lol

I am sticking with FS9 too.  My FS9 with mods looks better than the highest setting I can manage in FSX without stutters.  Not to mention I hate the aircraft selection screen.

Thanks Jet Black1 for posting the email you sent...I too sent them an email.  i did get a reply, but I emailed them regarding what aircraft they would relese next.  i didn't even get an honest answer.  They said the next would be a cessna 206!  I already have the 206, and it's for my beloved FS9.  I was very clear in my wording of "what NEW model they would make".  I even told them the only company worthy of doing a Cessna 180 would be them, they didn't respond.  So carry onward 2004 technology, you will always be better (minus water textures) than FSX!  I will just shut the:-Xup from here on out if they are going full FSX and not even making a NEW model for it.

Don't forget that there are a lot more addons available for FS9 compared to FSX

I'm not sure this is what i expected as a response to a simple question of why no good cessna180's for flightsim!  A bad way to get one is to put pressure on a company.  I do appreciate the attention the posts have gotten, but I like a positive atmosphere for flightsim, no offense Jet Black1.  I think we can all agree that we have a lot to look forward to for the future of FS....Cessna 180's, Husky's, all sorts of cool stuff.  But lets keep it positive and maybe a company will make these aircraft for us to enjoy Grin

I read somewhere a while ago a statement saying that the Carenado group only models aircraft that they have extensive access to in the real world, which I believe was interpreted as only modeling aircraft that are present at the local airfield that they have access to.
I guess it all depends on what they can get their hands on where they live. I don't think that emailed photos of a particular aircraft cut it with these guys, which can be good and bad, depending on your point of view.
