Did you do a "Search"? (Top of the blue topics section, between "Site Map" and "Upload Images")

It sounds like the first thing you need to do is use the FSX "Help" menu to find out how to change the scenery setting in FSX.  Toronto has towers out the ying-yang.

No, I can't do that for you, you have to do that yourself from the "settings" in your FSX when you first start the game.  It's the last option on the start up menu on the left.  Look for "Scenery", and slide the pointer to the right to increase scenery.  This will add more buildings, trees, and other objects, but depending on your computer, will slow down the "frame rate".

If your "scenery" is set too high, or the other settings are all set too high, it will slow down the game and you will not see smooth display, but will see a "stutter", the image will freeze for a fraction of a second, then go to the next picture, and the next.  So do not set all your setting to "High"  Do them one at a time, then try the game, and if everything looks okay, increase the next setting.

Yes. The higher your settings, the slower the simulation will run.  The thing to do is to slowly increment your settings until preformance drops below what you find acceptable.  If you can do without complex clouds and weather, set those settings to the low end.  If you do not need a lot of ground or air traffic, you can set those pretty low too.

The thing is to experiment with the settings to find the combination that works best for you.

In setting, checked "Advanced Animations", and I believe "Scenery" needs to be set fairly high, too, or the number of airports with gates will be few.

The command is "Ctrl + J", and you have to be parked "in the zone".

There are "Missions" in the "Mission" button on the opening page of FSX, click that button and choose your mission.  Or, pres "Free flight", and the second button from the right says "Flight Planner.  Click on that, and build your own mission plan, choose your point of origin, destination, and check the other options.

You probably have to taxi up to them from where you start on the runway.

On the page where you choose your airport, there is a dropdown on the lower right that says "choose runway/starting gate", or something like that.  As far as th jetway actually coming out and connecting to your aircraft, I do not know how to do that, excpt that the command is "ctrl + J".  And you have to have some of your variables set.  I do not know hwat has to be set as what, since I usually just "sim-up" at the end of the strip, ready to fly.

Yes, that is how it is *supposed* to work, but I must not have something set right, since the jetway doesn't move.  I'm assuming (big mistake, I know) that if I start at a gate (and the right size gate, I think  medium for a 727?) the  aircraft should be in the right possition, and the jetway should "do it's thing".

A *Texture* file is just a texture folder with a readme.  If you open one of your aircraft folders, you will see at least four folders and two files.

You should see a "Model", "Panel" "Sound" and at least one "Texture" folder.

Aircraft with more than one paint scheme, such as an airliner with paint schemes from three airlines will have three texture folders.  For instance there will be "Texture", "Texture.1" and a "Texture.2"

Back in the aircraft folder, there are also at least two files, an "Aircraft" file, which is the configuration (aircraft.cfg) file and an XXXXXXXX.air.

The "aircraft.cfg" contains one of more enteries called [fltsim.XX], where the "XX" depends upon the number of paint [texture] variations.

When you add a new texture to your aircraft, you have to modify the aircraft.cfg in order to see the new texture. Usually, a texture download will have a "readme" with the needed section of the aircraft.cfg needed.

To install the new texture, copy the "Texture.XXXXX" folder and paste it into the appropriate Aircraft folder.  Then open the readme file that came with the downloaded texture only file, and there should be a [fltsim.XX] section.  Copy that, thenopen the existing aircraft.cfg that is already in the aircraft folder, and paast the section from the readme under the last [fltsim] entry in the aircraft.cfg.  If you had three paint schemes there already, you should see something like [fltsim.0], then a section for [fltsim.1], and another for [fltsim.2]

Under that, you shoud paste the section [fltsim.xx] from the download Readme.  Then change the "xx" in the new section [fltsim.xx] to [fltsim.3]

Then you should be able to start your sim and see the new texture (paint scheme)

Also, make sure that the texture is being applied to exact model it was designed for!  That should be identified on the download page and in the readme file.

For example: If you download a texture for a Mike Stone C-119, you must have the c-119 by Mike Stone, and not one from someone else.  The mapping of the paint from the texture to the model will not work.

Do you mean you can't see it because the instrument panel is in the way, or that you can't find the airport?

How far away from the airport are you?  Have you zoomed out the range of the GPS display?  Can you see the airport out of the window?

You probably need to set your course,  heading, desired altitude and speed then engage the auto pilot.

Personally, I don't mess with planning a flight, so I don't know all the particulars, but I do know that if I were to plan a flight, I'd at the very least jot down what heading I'd need in order to get to the way points and when, and the destination.  Remember, GPS is relatively new to aviation.  In the "olden days" they had to actually navigate their routes.

go here: http://www.avsim.com/
search the name: Dave 'Opa' Marshall
look for: altitude_callout.zip

Quote from file ID:
"Hear altitude callouts - from your trusty co-pilot) - at 400, 300, 200, 100, 50, 40, 30, 20 and 10 feet above the runway.  This can be easily done to virtually any aircraft. You may already have the necessary FPDA sound and gauge files but if not, they are included. Just unzip to a temporary directory (using folders option) and follow the very simple instructions,  Compiled for your flying enjoyment by David "Opa" Marshall"

Avsim won't allow direct links(as far as I know), so at the top of the page that the link above takes you to, click on the 'File Library' link from there you can start the search.

From the instructions provided with package: Wink

Copy and paste the 9 .wav files to your sound directory.

Copy and paste the fpda_boeing_callout.gau to your gauges directory.

Then simply open the panel.cfg file of the aircraft you wish to enhance with altitude callouts.

Insert the following line (replace the xx with the next available gauge number) in the appropriate spot.

gaugeXX=FPDA_Boeing_Callout,  10, 100

See Panel.cfg info.txt for an example using the default b737-400 panel.

The next time you land that aircraft, your co-pilot will keep you posted on the altitude!

This will work in virtually any panel for any aircraft.

The portugal scenery goes in the addon scenery folder, after you put it there,  start FSX,   go to settings,   scenery library,  add new,   then browse to the addon scenery folder and select the portugal scenery, it should then update your scenery database. Wink

As for the flight attendants I'm not sure, there might be some kind of a guage or addon for that, but I've never seen one. Undecided

If it's in a "zip" folder, you have to extract it, then follow the instructions, if it has instructions.
