Sadly, Robert Hazard has passed away on 8/5/08 at age 59.

He was a very well known singer/songwriter residing in the Philadelphia, Pa (USA) area.

He was/is best known internationally as the author of Cyndi Lauper's "Girls just wanna have fun."

Yes.....

A strange thing is I was just talking about him to a co-worker last week a day or two before he died in reference to people doing what they love to do in life.

Most people out of the philly area have no idea who he is/was. My co- worker said "Robert who"?
Personally, I became familiar with him as a result of being a big Cyndi Lauper fan.

BTW, Cyndi issued this statment prominently on her site:

In Remembrance of Robert Hazard
August 7th, 2008
"I was very sorry to hear that Robert Hazard, the songwriter of 'Girls Just Want To Have Fun,' sadly passed away Tuesday. He was a very talented song writer. My thoughts and prayers are with his family." — Cyndi Lauper

Robert Hazard's web site for those who are not aware of him and his last musical efforts:  http://www.myspace.com/roberthazardmusic

I was thinking about getting "Troubadour" before his passing.
